On 20 Apr 09 Deputy Sheriff Mankins responded to the scene of death of a seventy-three year old Newport resident. The woman’s death appears to be natural; no foul play is suspected.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Orville Kent Hilderbrand, age 46, 4761 Staunton Turnpike, Parkersburg, for a felony charge of carrying a concealed weapon and for misdemeanor charges of failure to reinstate his operator’s license and operating a vehicle with fictitious plates. Hilderbrand was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Apr 09 at 10:54 am.

Brian Joseph Taggart, age 40, 806 Warren Avenue, Belpre, for failure to appear and for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, both misdemeanors. Taggart was arrested on Washington Boulevard in Belpre by Deputy Sheriff Spencer and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Apr 09 at 8:50 pm.
