On 15 Apr 09 Sgt. Eddy responded to the scene
of death of a sixty-five year old Marietta resident. The man’s
death appears natural; no foul play is suspected.
On 15 Apr 09 Angela K. Worstell, age 39, 4725
Zion Ridge Road, Newport, reported when her live-in boyfriend
kicked in the front door to their residence. Ms. Worstell said
she was upset that her boyfriend was out drinking so she locked
him out of the house. Both parties agreed to sleep in different
areas of the home to avoid any further incidents. Determining
no threat or act of domestic violence occurred, Deputy Sheriff
Reynolds closed this case as unfounded.
On 15 Apr 09 a forty-eight year old Lower
Salem resident reported a male subject, who was involved in
a vehicle transaction with her son, phone their home a dozen
times that evening and made repeated threats about killing
her son. This case remains under investigation (296).
On 15 Apr 09 a caller reported her daughter
Crystal D. Hoover, age 27, 186 Main Street Lot 7, Lowell, was
possibly en route to the hospital to receive treatment for
a cut to her hand that she suffered during a domestic dispute.
Questioned concerning the incident, Ms. Hoover, informed Deputy
Sheriff Mankins that she was arguing with her live-in boyfriend
Dustin M. Omspach, age 26, and she threw a phone at the wall.
In anger, Mr. Omspach then pushed over their television which
in turn caused picture frames to fall to the floor. As Ms.
Hoover began cleaning the broken glass she received a quarter
inch cut on her hand that subsequently stopped bleeding on
its own and did not require further attention. Determining
no act of domestic violence occurred, Deputy Mankins requested
summonses for Ms. Hoover and Mr. Omspach for disorderly conduct.
FUGITIVE WITH VIOLENT HISTORY ARRESTED
Acting on an anonymous tip provided by a concerned citizen,
Deputy Sheriff Tornes discovered an active felony warrant out
of Hillsboro County, Florida for the arrest of Jeremy J. Nicholas,
age 30, 15818 Martha Circle, Lutz, FL. Nicholas reportedly
left Florida in October 2008 and spent time briefly in Columbus,
Ohio before settling in Washington County. Convicted of battery
on a law enforcement officer and of opposing an officer with
violence, Nicholas was on probation and violated his probation
by leaving Florida without informing his probation officer.
Yesterday afternoon Deputy Sheriff Reeder located Mr. Nicholas,
who was residing with his girlfriend at 132 Washington Street
in Waterford, and arrested him without incident. Nicholas is
incarcerated without bond in the Washington County Jail pending
his extradition to Florida.

Heidi J. Casteel, age 28, 9670 McDougal Road,
Millfield, OH, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines in the sum of $448.50.
Dajuan McKenzie, age 26, 716 Franklin Avenue Apt. 2, Aliquippa,
PA, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines in the sum of $338.
David A. Sayres, age 44, 840 Pike Street Apt. 42, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines in the sum of $1,060.
John C. Swiger Jr., age 22, 1400 Lincoln Street SE Lot C,
Minerva, OH, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines in the sum of $374.40.
Marty R. Tolliver, age 20, 50425 Bigley Ridge Road, Long Bottom,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines in the sum of $353.60.
Joseph Wilson, age 25, 3336 McGuffey Avenue, Columbus, for
failing to appear at a hearing on 9 Apr 09.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
William Bruce Wilson, age 19, 1135 Cisler
Drive, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Wilson was arrested in Beverly
by Chief Brockmeier of the Beverly Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 15 Apr 09 at 1:06 pm.
Erin Christine Dutton, age 23, 341 Tadpole Run Road, Belpre,
for illegally manufacturing drugs and for the illegal assembly
of chemicals to manufacture drugs, both felonies. Dutton was
arrested at her residence by Sgt. Johnson of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 15 Apr 09 at 3:33 pm.
Ryan O’Neil Nichols, age 32, 341 Tadpole Run Road, Belpre,
for illegally manufacturing drugs and for the illegal assembly
of chemicals to manufacture drugs, both felonies. Nichols was
arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Simmons and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 15 Apr 09 at 4:13 pm.
