On 11 Apr 09 Deputy Sheriff Anderson arrested
Robert E. Baker, age 41, 4485 Finkle Hill Road, Caldwell, for
disorderly conduct by intoxication. An employee at Exxon in
Beverly reported an individual, later identified as Mr. Baker,
was sleeping in a vehicle parked by the gas pumps. Awakened
by Deputy Anderson, Mr. Baker seemed confused and had to be
given instructions on how to unlock the door. Once outside
the vehicle Mr. Baker had difficulty standing, had a strong
odor of alcohol and seemed disoriented. When transported to
the Washington County Jail Mr. Baker tested .240 BAC.
On 11 Apr 09 a forty year old Belpre resident
reported finding a pornographic photo on his fifteen year old
son’s mobile phone. The photo, which apparently was forwarded
several times, appears to have been obtained from the internet.
This case remains under investigation (953).
On 11 Apr 09 Deputy Sheriff Thorpe request
a summons for Billie Jo Mowery, age 29, 1936 Barth Road, Belpre,
for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Dispatched to Mowery’s residence on 8 Apr 09 to investigate
a report of three unattended juveniles, Deputy Thorpe found
a marijuana pipe and a bag of marijuana lying on the kitchen
table. Deputy Thorpe contacted Ms. Mowery by phone and she
returned to the residence shortly thereafter. Though Ms. Mowery
initially denied the items were hers, she later admitted smoking
marijuana earlier in the evening. Children’s Services
is investigating the case involving the unattended twelve,
seven and six year old children.
On 11 Apr 09 Lt. Wilson issued a citation
to Robert D. Vanshuyver Jr., age 49, 6961 Thicket Street NW,
Canton, for traveling 72 mph in a 55 mph zone. Lt. Wilson stopped
Mr. Vanshuyver on State Route 7 near Briggs Hill Road.
On 11 Apr 09 an employee of Dunham Square,
3876 State Route 339, Belpre, reported the passenger of a red
1998 Pontiac pumped 7.2 gallons in gasoline and then departed
along with the driver without paying for the fuel. This case
remains under investigation (953).
On 11 Apr 09 Lt. Wilson issued a citation
to Frederick G. McKitrick, age 27, 3010 Burnett Road, Cutler,
for driving under an FRA suspended license. Lt. Wilson stopped
Mr. McKitrick on Gilman Avenue in Pioneer Township.
On 11 Apr 09 Danielle A. Williams, age 48,
300 Starlite Drive Lot 47, Marietta, reported she phoned the
IRS after she did not receive her tax refund check for several
days following its mailing on 3 Mar 09. Further probing revealed
the $966 check was fraudulently endorsed and cashed at Foodcenter
in Marietta. This case remains under investigation (953).
On 11 Apr 09 Latisha Efaw, age 31, 170 Charles
Street, Newport, reported her mother Karen S. Brunoni, age
51, 8411 County Nine Road, Newport, was upset that she would
not return a shotgun given to her temporarily for safekeeping.
When Deputy Sheriff Mankins arrived at the scene Ms. Brunoni
was still yelling and demanding that her daughter give her
the gun that belongs to her son. As Deputy Mankins spoke to
Mrs. Efaw, Ms. Brunoni continued her tirade and twice interrupted
Deputy Mankins despite being asked cease her behavior. When
Ms. Brunoni interrupted for a third time Deputy Mankins arrested
her for disorderly conduct and transported her to the Washington
County Jail. It is the third time since 8 Apr 09 that Ms. Brunoni
has been charged with disorderly conduct and the second time
she was arrested for the offense.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Jasper Joe Thomas, age 24, 2085 Leith Run Road, New Matamoras,
for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Thomas
was arrested on Fourth Street by Chief Bourne of the New Matamoras
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 11 Apr 09 at 12:20 am.
Karen Sue Brunoni, age 51, 8411 County Nine Road, Newport,
for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. Brunoni was arrested
on Charles Street in Newport by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 Apr 09 at 1:24
am.
Rodney Eugene Hollins, age 49, 2710 State Route 83, Beverly,
for OVI, for driving left of center and for driving outside
the marked lanes of travel, all misdemeanors. Hollins was arrested
on State Route 83 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 11 Apr 09 at 2:41 am.
Robert Edward Baker, age 41, 4485 Finkle Hill Road, Caldwell,
for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Baker
was arrested in Beverly by Deputy Sheriff Anderson and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 11 Apr 09 at 4:05 am.
