On 10 Apr 09 Deputy Sheriff Reynolds was patrolling
Arborgate Drive in Marietta after receiving complaints of a
loud party in the area. Shortly thereafter Deputy Reynolds
encountered a vehicle occupied by six juveniles. Though four
of the teenagers denied consuming any alcohol, Deputy Reynolds
noticed the odor indicative of alcohol consumption. The three
females and one male provided breath samples that tested positive
for alcohol and will be summonsed to appear in Juvenile Court.
On 10 Apr 09 Tony Mercer, age 47, 2607 16th
Avenue, Parkersburg, reported he is remodeling a home he owns
at 1599 Briggs Hill Road in Belpre and that sometime between
7:30 pm on 9 Apr and 8 pm on 10 Apr an unknown suspect(s) pried
open the front door of the residence. Mr. Mercer said the thieve(s)
stole three drills, two saws, a heater, a radio and a roll
of electrical wire. This case remains under investigation (610).
On 10 Apr 09 Justin T. Smith, age 32, 1278
Bender Road, Marietta, reported while he was away from his
residence between 10 am and 8 pm an unknown suspect(s) entered
his unlocked home and stole an Xbox 360, game controllers,
a Guitar Hero guitar and two games. This case remains under
investigation (712).
On 10 Apr 09 Thomas Cochran, age 42, 2050
Braun Road, Belpre, reported sometime overnight an unknown
suspect(s) stole lawn equipment and various air tools from
the bed of his truck and from an unlocked storage building
on his property. This case remains under investigation (712).
On 10 Apr 09 Scott Bever, age 54, 40 Railroad
Street, Whipple, reported his home was unoccupied between 10:30
am and 6 pm and that sometime during that time frame an unknown
suspect(s) entered the home and stole 100 pills from his recently
filled prescription for Percocet. This case remains under investigation
(610).
On 10 Apr 09 the president of the Marietta
Soccer League reported sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s)
removed screws from the hinges of the concession stand’s
doors and entered the building. Other than a few cookies that
could be missing, the league president said the suspects squeezed
condiments out onto various areas and wrote a statement on
the glass of the drink cooler. This case remains under investigation
(953).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Donald James Covey, age 34, Marietta, for
breach of recognizance and for failure to appear, both misdemeanors.
Covey was arrested at Marietta Memorial Hospital by Sgt. Eddy
of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 10 Apr 09 at 2:48 am.
Amanda Rae Wilson, age 22, 1202 Swann Street,
Parkersburg, for driving under a suspended license and for
not wearing a seat belt, both misdemeanors. Wilson was arrested
near milepost twenty-seven on State Route 7 by the Ohio State
Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 10 Apr 09 at 10:05 am.
Charles Stanley Fox II, age 38, 800 Fourth Street, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his parole, a felony. Fox was arrested
on Third Street by Patrolman Ellenwood of the Marietta City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 10 Apr 09 at 11:30 am.
Brent Allan Bair, age 24, 18891 Canaan Road, Guysville, for
two misdemeanor counts of failure to appear. Bair was picked
up in Franklin County by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 10 Apr 09 at 2:52 pm.
