On 4 Apr 09 a witness reported finding a vehicle
gas tank and an old computer in the vicinity of milepost four
on Dixon Ridge Road in Adams Township. Deputy Sheriff K. Travaglio
identified a suspect, who denied disposing of the items but
acquiesced to the request that he retrieve the rubbish and
dispose of it properly. Township officials were amenable to
the deal, desiring more for the removal of the items than for
the pursuit of charges.
On 4 Apr 09 Deputy Sheriff Holbert requested
a summons for Joshua L. Bonnette, age 31, 1357 Goose Run Road,
Marietta, for possession of marijuana and for possession of
drug paraphernalia. A backseat passenger in a vehicle stopped
near milepost eight on State Route 821 for not having a rear
license plate light, Mr. Bonnette made several furtive movements
as the vehicle came to a stop. Deputy Holbert conducted a search
after a canine indicate the presence of drugs in the vehicle
and discovered a wooden pipe and a small quantity of marijuana
crammed in a crevice in the back seat. Though Mr. Bonnette
admitted he smoked marijuana he would not claim ownership of
the items secreted near his seat.
On 4 Apr 09 Carl Crouser, age 60, 2665 Blue
Knob Road, Marietta, reported he believes two male acquaintances
forcibly entered a camper on his property on 29 or 30 Dec 08
and stole a .22 caliber bolt action rifle and a compound bow.
Mr. Crouser said he attempted to contact the alleged suspects
to retrieve the stolen property but has been unable to do so.
This case remains under investigation (594).
On 4 Apr 09 a twenty-five year old Williamstown
resident reported she was surfing the internet when she discovered
a threat posted on a message board by her former boyfriend.
When questioned by Deputy Sheriff Hornbeck, the suspect admitted
posting the comment on a message board but said that he did
so to vent his anger following a dispute with his girlfriend
of their unborn child. Deputy Hornbeck determined the threats
were not credible and that the suspect had no intention of
following through with the threat. As a result, Deputy Hornbeck
closed this case as unfounded and advised the victim to seek
a protection order if she feared for her safety.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Michael Edward Morris, age 40, 799 Plant Drive,
Worthington, OH, for OVI and for failure to signal, both misdemeanors.
Morris was arrested on Buchanan Road in Waterford by the Ohio
State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 4 Apr 09 at 2:35 am.
Alan Michael Tracewell, age 23, PO Box 583,
Waverly, WV, for criminal trespassing, a misdemeanor. Tracewell
was arrested on the campus of Marietta College by Officer McKahan
of the Marietta College Police Department and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 4 Apr 09 at 3:50 am.
Bryan Andrew Huff, age 39, 24 Colegate Drive,
Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Huff was arrested on at Marietta Memorial Hospital by Probation
Officer Hamilton and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 4 Apr 09 at 2:18 pm.
