On 31 Mar 09 Deputy Sheriff Spencer responded to the scene of death of a fifty year old New Matamoras resident. The woman’s death appears to be natural; no foul play is suspected.

On 31 Mar 09 the owner of A+B Collision, 568 Hocking Road, Little Hocking, reported when he arrived at work that morning he noticed two campers awaiting repair at the business had been forcibly entered. The business owner said the suspect(s) broke a window on the entrance door of the campers and rummaged through the interior. At this time no property appears missing from inside the campers. This case remains under investigation (1104).

On 29 Mar 09 Tim Carver, age 45, 76 Saint Andrews Boulevard, Belpre, reported beginning at 7 pm a male subject with a blocked phone number began phoning his residence and making statements about killing him and his family. Later that evening at approximately 10:40 pm, Mr. Carver said he answered a knock at his door and was met by a male unknown to him. At that point another male, later identified as Mark A. McIntyre, age 27, 223 Broughton Avenue, Marietta, came around the corner of his garage and pointed a twelve gauge shotgun at him. Mr. Carver said as Mr. McIntyre threatened to kill him he quickly shut his door and ducked to the floor. Fleeing the scene, Mr. McIntyre contacted Sgt. Eddy on 31 Mar after hearing Sgt. Eddy was trying to locate him.

Mr. McIntyre’s motive appears to be related to an incident that transpired in the City of Marietta on 29 Mar. During that incident Mr. Carver reportedly forced his way into Mr. McIntyre’s home and left the residence with Mr. McIntyre’s pants and wallet. This incident is currently under investigation by the Marietta City Police Department.

Charged with aggravated menacing, Mr. McIntyre posted $1,000 bond and was released from the Washington County Jail.
