On 25 Mar 09 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio issued
a citation to Calvin J. Antill, age 23, 30650 State Route 7,
Marietta, for reckless operation. On State Route 7 in Marietta
Township Deputy Travaglio observed Mr. Antill quickly accelerate
his vehicle while turning onto Tennis Center Drive. The rear
tires of Mr. Antill’s vehicle began to spin out, causing
the truck to fishtail around the corner. Questioned regarding
his actions, Mr. Antill said he was excited and had “never
laid into it before.” Mr. Antill also acknowledged his
actions could have caused an accident.
On 25 Mar 09 Dessie L. Walters, age 78, 7760
Dalzell Road, Whipple, reported she was at the Misty Blue at
1755 State Route 821, Marietta, when another patron entered
the bar and informed her the rear window and brake light of
her Toyota Corolla were broken. Viewing the damage to her vehicle,
Ms. Walters saw half of a cinder block lying on the back seat
among the shards of shattered glass. This case remains under
investigation (232).
ITEMS SEIZED FROM INDOOR MARIJUANA GROW OPERATION
This morning around 10:30 Detectives from the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit and members of the Major
Crimes Task Force executed a search warrant at 47410 State
Route 7, New Matamoras. The warrant was executed after Detectives
became aware of marijuana being cultivated utilizing an indoor
grow operation at the residence. Inside a bedroom in the residence
Detectives located 92 marijuana plants of varying heights and
having total mass of 590 grams. Assorted items used in the
growing of marijuana were seized from the home as well as various
articles of drug paraphernalia. At the conclusion of the search
warrant, Detectives arrested Scott A. Davis, age 38, for an
outstanding felony warrant from Wayne County for nonsupport
of dependants. Evidence supporting additional charges of cultivation
of marijuana will be sent to the Washington County Prosecutor’s
Office for grand jury consideration. Davis indicated he had
been growing the plants inside and was going to move them outside
as soon as the weather improved.
Davis remains incarcerated in the Washington County Jail without
bond pending his extradition to Wayne County.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Amy Lynn Davis, age 34, 145 Greenbrier Circle
Apt. 26, Marietta, for failing to reinstate her operator’s
license and for driving outside the marked lanes of travel,
both misdemeanors. Davis was arrested near milepost fourteen
on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 25 Mar 09 at 2:50 am.
Scott Andrew Davis, age 38, 47410 State Route
7, New Matamoras, for nonsupport of dependants, a felony. Davis
was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Holbert and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Mar 09 at 12:50
pm.
Troy Clinton Jonas, age 44, Budget Lodge Room 109, Belpre,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Jonas was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman
Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 25 Mar 09 at 1:20 pm.
Donald Eugene Bartimus, age 28, 2346 Sealy Ridge Road, Vincent,
for nonsupport of dependants, a misdemeanor. Bartimus was picked
up at the Athens County line by Deputy Sheriff Reynolds and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Mar 09 at 5:15
pm.
