On 22 Mar 09 Deputy Sheriff Hornbeck requested
a summons for a fourteen year old Cutler resident to appear
in Juvenile Court on charges of delinquency by possession of
drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Three days earlier
the teenager’s uncle, who has custody of his niece, found
a bag of marijuana and three marijuana pipes fashioned from
aluminum foil in the juvenile’s bedroom. When questioned,
the teenager admitted the items belonged to her and that she
purchased them from another student at Warren High School.
On 22 Mar 09 Desiree Queen, age 22, 2670 Glendale
Road, Marietta, reported she was upset that when she awoke
from a nap in her basement she found that her live-in boyfriend
locked the door leading to the first floor of their residence.
Exiting the basement through another unlocked door, Ms. Queen
said that she was not threatened and did not fear for her safety.
Therefore, Deputy Sheriff Hornbeck closed this domestic violence
report as unfounded.
On 22 Mar 09 Deputy Sheriff Hornbeck issued
a citation to Rachel E. Tucker, age 22, 1428 King Street, Belpre,
for driving under an FRA suspended license. Deputy Hornbeck
stopped Ms. Tucker for weaving in and out of her lane of travel
on US 50 near Farson Street in Belpre Township.
On 22 Mar 09 Leza Davidson-Mellor, age 50,
2 White Oaks Farm, Parkersburg, reported at 11 am she left
with a friend after parking her 1986 Camaro on State Route
821 in Macksburg and when she returned to her vehicle at 8
pm she noticed several dents and a scratch extending around
the entire vehicle. This case remains under investigation (1090).
On 22 Mar 09 Cindy Callihan, age 45, 707 McDonald
Road, Waterford, reported while she attended church she believes
one of her son’s friends stole an iPod and three Playstation
games from the home. This case remains under investigation
(1104).
On 22 Mar 09 Ira Blair, age 24, 1003 Front
Street, Marietta, reported he was on the porch of a home at
329 Main Street, Lower Salem, visiting a friend when Rocky
D. Huck, age 27, 20330 State Route 60, Beverly, appeared at
the residence and began instigating a fight. Repeatedly declining
Mr. Huck’s taunts, Mr. Blair said Mr. Huck jumped on
his back, bit him in the head and fish hooked him by sticking
his finger in his mouth. Pulled off Mr. Blair by witnesses,
Mr. Huck fled the scene and was later located at his residence
by Sgt. Eddy. Declining to make a comment rebutting witness
statements, Mr. Huck was arrested for assault and transported
to the Washington County Jail.
On 22 Mar 09 Deputy Sheriff Holbert issued
a citation to Daniel S. Metz, age 38, 101 Allen Street, Little
Hocking, for driving under a suspended license. Deputy Holbert
originally stopped Mr. Metz for following another vehicle too
closely near milepost three on US 50 in Belpre Township.
On 22 Mar 09 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio responded
to a fire at the residence of Thomas Vandale, age 82, 643 Goose
Run Road, Marietta. Mr. Vandale stated he was away from the
residence at the time and that his thirty-one year old granddaughter
was asleep and awakened by smoke. The Reno Fire Department
extinguished the blaze, which caused approximately $20,000
in damage.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Benjamin Franklin Corp, age 49, 156 Turkey Hollow Road, Marietta,
for two misdemeanor counts of domestic violence. Corp was arrested
at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Hornbeck and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 22 Mar 09 at 12:51 am.
Angela Ranae Shaffer, age 33, 7210 Orndoff Road, Stockport,
for .08 breath OVI, for driving under an FRA suspended license,
for operating a vehicle with fictitious plates and for operating
a vehicle without a license, all misdemeanors. Shaffer was
arrested on Wells Road by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Mar 09 at 2:45
am.
Brendon Scott Welch, age 27, 227 Alden Avenue, Marietta, for
operating a vehicle with expired registration, a misdemeanor.
Welch was arrested on Pike Street by Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Mar 09
at 8:31 am.
Rocky Dustin Huck, age 27, 20330 State Route
60, Beverly, for assault, a misdemeanor. Huck was arrested
at his residence
by Sgt. Eddy of the Washington County Sheriff's Office
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Mar 09
at 3:26 pm.
Sherman Dewayne Holder Jr., age 25, 2123 Jenny Lane, Washington
Courthouse, OH, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Holder
turned himself in to Deputy Sheriff Hornbeck and was processed
into the Washington County Jail on 22 Mar 09 at 10:00 pm.
