On 20 Mar 09 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks arrested
Suzanna C. Mayle, age 37, PO Box 234, Philippi, WV, for possession
of drug paraphernalia and for two counts of possession of drugs.
A passenger in a vehicle stopped for speeding on Interstate
77, Ms. Mayle admitted she was in possession of contraband
after Deputy Smeeks’ canine indicated the presence of
drugs in the vehicle. From her purse Ms. Mayle produced a partially
smoked marijuana joint, a small amount of marijuana and one
pill each of the prescription drugs Ativan and Klonopin.
On 20 Mar 09 an employee at Frontier High
School, 44870 State Route 7, New Matamoras, reported a student
used a permanent marker to graffiti the same symbol on various
locations inside the school. Caught in the boy’s restroom,
the sixteen year old New Matamoras resident admitted he was
guilty of defacing school property. In consequence, Deputy
Sheriff Anderson requested a summons for the teenager to appear
in Juvenile Court for being delinquent.
On 20 Mar 09 Sgt. Eddy arrested James J. Lowers,
age 30, and Shoshawna M. Lowers, age 23, 3065 Lowell Hill Road,
Lowell, for fifth degree felony charges of receiving stolen
property. Mr. and Mrs. Lowers allegedly stole $2,000 worth
of jewelry from the residence of an acquaintance on 27 Feb
09 and sold the items at a local jewelry store.
On 20 Mar 09 Frederick G. McKitrick, age 26,
3010 Burnett Road, Cutler, reported large quantities of his
prescriptions for Zoloft, Darvocet and Campral were stolen
from inside his vehicle either when it was parked at Lowes
or when his wife was driving it that day. This case remains
under investigation (805).
On 20 Mar 09 Holly A. Miller, age 26, 15151
Waterford Road, Waterford, reported while she was at work that
day an unknown suspect(s) entered her home and stole two checkbooks,
a jar of loose change, two social security cards and two birth
certificates. This case remains under investigation (805).
On 20 Mar 09 Jeff A. Stimmel, age 38, 29177
Star Route, Logan, OH, reported sometime between 15 and 20
Mar an unknown suspect(s) broke into his brother’s vacation
home at 330 State Route 124, Little Hocking. Mr. Stimmel stated
the only items he believes were taken were approximately fifteen
DVD’s. This case remains under investigation (805).

Shoshawna Marie Lowers, age 24, 3065 Lowell
Hill Road, Lowell, for receiving stolen property, a felony.
Lowers was arrested at Sponey’s IGA in Beverly by Deputy
Sheriff Eddy and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 20 Mar 09 at 1:30 am.
James Justin Lowers, age 30, 3065 Lowell Hill Road, Lowell,
for receiving stolen property, a felony. Lowers was arrested
at Sponey’s IGA in Beverly by Deputy Sheriff Eddy and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Mar 09 at 2:00
am.
Michael Lee Hurst, age 30, 213 Ingleside Avenue,
Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Hurst was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Probation
Officer Hamilton and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 20 Mar 09 at 9:20 am.
Alex Justin Dunn, age 19, 405 Eighth Street, Williamstown,
for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Dunn was
arrested at the office of Probation Officer Gault and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 20 Mar 09 at 10:25 am.
Suzanna Christine Mayle, age 37, PO Box 234, Philippi, WV,
for possession of drug paraphernalia and for two counts of
possession of drugs, both misdemeanors. Mayle was arrested
near milepost eleven on Interstate 77 by Deputy Sheriff Smeeks
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Mar 09
at 2:45 pm.
