On 16 Mar 09 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued
a citation to Tracy B. Bronson Jr., age 18, 6949 Pleasant Ridge
Road, Marietta, for traveling 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy
Smeeks stopped Mr. Bronson near milepost fifteen on State Route
339 in Watertown Township.
On 16 Mar 09 Gary A. Grose, age 63, 105 Sierra
Road, Marietta, reported he wired $10,640 to a Bank of America
account in New York as part of an auction he won on eBay for
a 1967 Pontiac GTO. Contacting eBay after he had yet to receive
the vehicle, Mr. Grose learned the auction was fraudulent and
not associated with eBay. Deputy Sheriff Hornbeck spoke to
a representative from Bank of America who said that the account
in question is under investigation by the bank and by the FBI
for defrauding individuals in excess of $30,000. Further investigation
in this case will be conducted by the FBI and Bank of America.
On 16 Mar 09 Sgt. Underwood and Deputy Sheriff
Smeeks issued minor misdemeanor citations to Jennie L. Langdon,
age 21, and Jason A. Shuck, age 22, both of 19330 State Route
550, Marietta, for disorderly conduct. Called to the residence
to investigate a domestic dispute, the Deputies determined
Ms. Langdon and Mr. Shuck were arguing over a telephone. During
the dispute Mr. Shuck pushed Ms. Langdon and at the same time
Ms. Langdon struck Mr. Shuck in the forehead with her hand.
The Deputies also concluded that the parties did not attempt
to harm the other and neither individual feared for their safety.
ADDITIONAL DRUG TRAFFICKING ARRESTS
Following the completion of investigations into numerous targets
involved in drug trafficking in Washington County the Major
Crimes Task Force yesterday began an arrest roundup. The suspects
arrested and brief synopses of their offenses follow:
Misty D. Martin, age 19, 1182 Hocking Road,
Little Hocking, for trafficking in crack cocaine. On 17 Jul
08 Martin sold
a confidential informant $200 worth of crack cocaine in Belpre.
When told by the informant that there were not two grams of
cocaine in the purchase, Martin advised the informant that
you don’t get as much when you cook it up. Martin also
said that it was “good” and she weighed it herself.
Martin appeared in court yesterday and was released on a personal
recognizance bond.
Warren S. Tucker, age 27, 712 Clement Avenue Apt. B, Belpre,
for trafficking in crack cocaine, for trafficking in crack
cocaine in the vicinity of a minor and for trafficking in hydrocodone.
In Belpre on 12 Jan 09 a confidential informant bought three
eight balls of crack cocaine from Tucker and was also given
two Klonopin pills. Again in Belpre on 5 Feb 09 Tucker sold
an informant what was supposed to be a half ounce of crack
cocaine in the presence of Tucker’s child. Tucker’s
bond for the trafficking charges was set at $42,500. He remains
incarcerated, also charged with violating the terms of his
probation.
Kevin M. Taylor, age 55, 122 Tennis Center Drive Apt. 39,
Marietta, for trafficking in a bulk amount of hydrocodone.
On occasions in Newport on 6 Nov and 16 Dec 08 respectively,
Taylor sold a confidential informant eighty and then sixty
Percocet pills. Taylor is incarcerated in lieu of $30,000 bond.
Jerry “Mike” Donley, age 63, 106 D Colonial Square,
Belpre, for trafficking in hydrocodone. In November 2008 Donley
sold a confidential informant thirty-two hydrocodone pills
from his residence in Belpre. Donley appeared in court yesterday
and was released on a personal recognizance bond.

Office received the following warrants:
Tracy L. Kuhn-Covey, age 41, 1209 Cisler Drive
Apt. C, for breach of recognizance for failing to appear for
arraignment on 6 Mar 09.
Steven J. McGee, age 37, 116 Grove Street, Marietta, for an
act of domestic violence committed in Belpre on 9 Mar 09.
George E. Thomas III, age 35, 241 Muskingum Drive, Marietta,
for breach of recognizance for failing to appear for arraignment
on 30 Jan 09.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Jonathan Michael Wilson, age 22, 1009 Third
Street, Marietta, for possession of drugs, a misdemeanor. Wilson
was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Thomas of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 16 Mar 09 at 2:30 am.
Kevin Michael Taylor, age 55, 122 Tennis Center
Drive Apt. 39, for two felony counts of trafficking in drugs.
Taylor was arrested at his residence by Detective Hiatt of
the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 16 Mar 09 at 10:05 am.
Warren Stephen Lee Tucker, age 27, 712 Clement Avenue Apt.
B, Belpre, for three counts of trafficking in drugs and for
violating the terms of his probation, all felonies. Tucker
was arrested at his residence by Detective Smithberger of the
Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 16 Mar 09 at 11:15 am.
Thomas Paul Daugherty, age 29, 1109 Tenth Street Apt. A, Vienna,
for violating the terms of his parole, a felony. Daugherty
was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Gilchrist and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Mar 09 at 11:20
am.

for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Martin was arrested in
Belpre by Lt. Stackpole of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16
Mar 09 at 11:25 am.
Jerry Wayne Donley, age 63, 106 D Colonial Square, Belpre,
for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Donley was arrested at
his residence by Major Warden of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16
Mar 09 at 11:28 am.
Garry W. Vanmeter III, age 32, 1842 Grace Road Apt. 7, Akron,
for criminal simulation, a misdemeanor. Vanmeter was arrested
outside Marietta Municipal Court by Patrolman Hively of the
Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 16 Mar 09 at 3:46 pm.
Andrew Michael Russell, age 23, 306 Colegate Drive, Marietta,
for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Russell turned himself
in to Deputy Sheriff Reeder and was processed into the Washington
County Jail on 16 Mar 09 at 4:08 pm.
