On 13 Mar 09 Janet Gibbs, age 38, 1825 Greene
Street, Marietta, reported she was bleeding from a head wound
she incurred when her live-in boyfriend David E. Waterman,
age 55, pushed her down several stairs in their home. Ms. Gibbs
said Mr. Waterman was intoxicated after spending the day drinking
downtown when an argument erupted over something the couple
saw while watching the television show “Cops.” Ms.
Gibbs stated she was attempting to grab car keys from Mr. Waterman
when he shoved her and she fell down the stairs and struck
the back of her head. As a result of the incident, Deputy Sheriff
Simmons arrested Mr. Waterman for domestic violence and transported
him to the Washington County Jail.
On 13 Mar 09 Regan Tate, age 28, 109 Pine
Drive, Little Hocking, reported her recently purchased cocker
spaniel puppy went missing around 12 Dec 08. On today’s
date Ms. Tate said she retrieved her dog after she received
a phone call from the Parkersburg Humane Society. The Humane
Society informed Ms. Tate a woman turned in a dog that they
scanned for a computer chip and it revealed it belonged to
her. This case remains under investigation (805).
On 13 Mar 09 Lisa K. Simers, age 45, 35 Wildwood
Lake Road, Coolville, reported sometime between midnight and
11 am an unknown suspect(s) stole a clay chicken shaped planting
pot from her front porch. This case remains under investigation
(805).
On 13 Mar 09 three juveniles reported they
were walking in the alley behind the Duke station in Lowell
when the driver of a pickup truck swerved and nearly struck
them. Identified by his license plate, the driver of the truck
said the juveniles would not get out of the way and he had
to swerve to avoid them. The juveniles and their parents declined
to pursue the matter further (296).
On 13 Mar 09 Skylar Brewer, age 28, 34570
Merrill Ridge Road, Graysville, reported he is the caretaker
for his infirmed father’s unoccupied residence at 20315
State Route 26, Wingett Run, and sometime during the past month
the home was entered and a large portion of the electrical
wiring was stolen. This case remains under investigation (610).
On 13 Mar 09 Randy Johnson, age 25, 156 First
Street, Vincent, reported approximately three weeks ago an
unknown suspect(s) stole two beagle puppies from a fenced dog
pen in his back yard. Mr. Johnson continued to say that on
11 Mar an unknown person entered his residence and stole his
pet shih tzu and its cage. This case remains under investigation
(1104).
On 13 Mar 09 a chaperone at a dance at Warren
High School reported two females at the dance were intoxicated
and possibly in possession of alcohol. Questioned by Lt. Coppernoll
and Lt. Stackpole, the two fifteen year olds admitted drinking
alcohol and revealed empty and partially empty bottles of alcohol
in their purses. Charges against the two females for delinquency
by underage consumption of alcohol will be filed by Lt. Stackpole
in the near future.
On 13 Mar 09 Marshall Satterfield, age 52,
407 Knob Drive, Vincent, reported he saw the lights in his
house flicker and when he next looked out a window to a storage
building on his property he noticed the structure was ablaze.
The Barlow, Dunham and Little Hocking fire departments responded
to the scene and extinguished the fire but not before it caused
substantial damage to the structure and contents. If deemed
suspicious by fire department chiefs, this case will be forwarded
to the State Fire Marshall for further investigation (1104).
On 13 Mar 09 Deputy Sheriff K. Travaglio issued
a citation to Michael J. Dotson, age 42, 1016 38th Street,
Parkersburg, for failing to stop at a stop light. Deputy Travaglio
stopped Mr. Dotson on US 50 at the intersection of Braun road
in Belpre Township.

Office received the following warrants:
Sunshine L. Farnsworth, age 24, 832 Saint
Marys Avenue, Marietta, for failing to appear to serve three
days in jail on 4 Mar 09.
Daniel E. Hendrickson, age 22, 704 Washington Square, Marietta,
for failing to appear to serve three days in jail on 27 Feb
09.
Thomas E. George, age 35, 241 Muskingum Drive, Marietta, for
the theft of items valued under $500 from Kmart on 21 Jan 09.
Garry W. Vanmeter, age 32, 130 E. Mapledale Avenue, Akron,
for attempting to pass a fraudulent object on 3 Dec 08.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Amanda Dawn Wharton, age 27, 211 Montgomery
Street Apt. B, Marietta, for two misdemeanor counts of failure
to appear. Wharton was arrested at her residence by Deputy
Sheriff Simmons and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 13 Mar 09 at 7:08 pm.
David Eugene Waterman, age 55, 1825 Greene Street, Marietta,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Waterman was arrested
at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Simmons and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 13 Mar 09 at 8:43 pm.
