On 3 Mar 09 a neighbor reported she was starting her car when her neighbor Angela Bookman, age 30, 90 Stanley Street, Newport, ran into her yard, screaming for her to call 911 because she was bleeding. Mrs. Bookman asked the neighbor to accompany her back to her home, saying she was frightened of her husband Timothy, age 28. Interviewed by Deputy Sheriff Simmons, Mrs. Bookman said she temporarily lost consciousness after her husband pushed her and she struck her head on either the floor or on something in the kitchen of their residence. When she awoke, Mrs. Bookman stated she was bleeding on the right side of her head and was unable to phone for help because her husband wouldn’t allow her to use the phone. Under questioning, Mr. Bookman commented that the couple argued over him staying up late and watching videos on Youtube but claimed that his wife went berserk knocked over several items in the home. It was during that tirade that Mr. Bookman claimed his wife slipped and struck her head on a bookshelf.
