On 2 Mar 09 Charles E. Wright, age 62, 1095 Salster Road, Fleming, reported while he was at work an unknown suspect(s) entered his home by breaking the glass on a basement door and stole a digital camera, a .22 caliber rifle and a prescription bottle of Xanax. This case remains under investigation (1293).

On 2 Mar 09 Tiffany Shank, age 41, 1145 Bender Road, Marietta, reported sometime between 1 Jan and 2 Mar 09 her wedding ring, a necklace and three other rings were stolen from the jewelry box in her bedroom. Ms. Shank estimates the total loss at over $2,400. This case remains under investigation (805).

On 2 Mar 09 the general manager of Family Ford, 909 Pike Street, Marietta, reported an unknown suspect(s) entered five locked 2009 Ford Rangers sometime between 28 Feb and 2 Mar 09 and removed the factory installed Pioneer CD players valued at $500 each. This case remains under investigation (805).

On 2 Mar 09 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Iva R. McFall, age 27, 28775 Gaston Road, Albany, OH, for having expired license plates. Informed Ms. McFall’s license was suspended, Deputy Smeeks took her into custody. Upon taking inventory of Ms. McFall’s vehicle prior to it being impounded, Deputy Smeeks observed two beer cans on the floor. When questioned, the passenger in Ms. McFall’s vehicle, Richard E. Camp, age 27, 34462 Union Ridge Road, Albany, admitted the beer cans were his. As a result of the stop, Deputy Smeeks transported Ms. McFall to jail and issued a minor misdemeanor citation to Mr. Camp for consuming alcohol in a vehicle.

On 2 Mar 09 Julia M. Pettey, age 35, 480 Stone Quarry Road, Fleming, reported she was inside the Barlow Library for only a few minutes when she heard her minivan’s alarm. When she deactivated the alarm and looked inside the vehicle Ms. Pettey noticed her purse containing her mobile phone, four credit cards and two checkbooks was missing. This case remains under investigation (1293).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Garry W. Vanmeter III, age 32, 3770 Portage Lake Drive, Akron, for criminal simulation, a misdemeanor. Vanmeter turned himself in at the Washington County Courthouse to Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Mar 09 at 9:21 am.

Iva Raelynn McFall, age 27, 28775 Gaston Road, Albany, OH, for driving under a suspended license and for operating a vehicle with expired license plates, both misdemeanors. McFall was arrested on State Route 339 in Belpre by Detective Staats of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Mar 09 at 2:15 pm.

Rocky Allen Hockenberry, age 49, 315 Colegate Drive, Marietta, for OVI and for driving under an FRA suspended license, both misdemeanors. Hockenberry was arrested on Scammel Street by Patrolman Hively of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Mar 09 at 4:20 pm.
