On 1 Mar 09 an employee of the Washington
County Juvenile Center, 1699 Colegate Drive, Marietta, reported
a detainee at the center gave him a forearm shiver to the chest
and fled the facility through the north exit doors. The suspect
was later located at the YMCA and returned to the Juvenile
Center. The teenager’s probation officer will pursue
charges against the teenager because of the incident (1090).
On 1 Mar 09 Deputy Sheriff Hall and the Little
Hocking Fire Department were dispatched to a fire at a vacant
mobile home at 1320 Drag Strip Road, Belpre. The trailer’s
owner, Charles Burton, age 26, 96 Federal Road, Little Hocking,
stated the address did not have utilities and that he was having
difficulty obtaining the funds to move it. Extinguished without
further incident, the cause of the fire will be investigated
by the State Fire Marshall.
On 1 Mar 09 Deputy Sheriffs Hall, Norman and
K. Travaglio responded to 55 Browns Road, Marietta, after receiving
a report that the home’s resident, Curtis L. Lamp, age
45, was in possession of a shotgun and threatening to shoot
himself. Prior to the arrival of Deputies, a bystander had
distracted Mr. Lamp and took possession of the weapon without
incident. Intoxicated on alcohol and prescription drugs, Mr.
Lamp said he kept drinking alcohol and taking pills so he could
get the nerve to shoot himself. Consequently, Deputy Travaglio
arrested Mr. Lamp for disorderly conduct by intoxication and
handling a weapon while intoxicated and transported him to
the Washington County Jail.
On 1 Mar 09 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks requested
a summons for Ali E. Bartimus, age 19, 1744 Autumn Drive, Lancaster,
for possession of drug paraphernalia. A Stopping the vehicle
for speeding on State Route 618 at Carson Lane, Deputy Smeeks
noticed an odor of burnt marijuana. A searched prompted by
a canine’s indication of the presence of drugs in the
vehicle resulted in the recovery of a plastic bag that once
contained marijuana. After further questioning Ms. Bartimus
produced a marijuana pipe she had concealed in her bra.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Tara Ashley Burgett, age 22, 105 Eighth Street, McConnelsville,
for passing bad checks, a felony. Burgett was picked up at
the Morgan County line by Deputy Sheriff Simmons and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 1 Mar 09 at 2:25 pm.
Jason Michael Weekly, age 33, 612 Florence Street, Belpre,
for driving under an FRA suspended license, failure to appear,
nonsupport of dependants and for not wearing a seat belt, all
misdemeanors. Weekly was arrested near milepost fifteen on
State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 1 Mar 09 at 6:35 pm.
Curtis Clayton Lamp, age 45, 55 Browns Road, Marietta, for
using a weapon while intoxicated and for disorderly conduct
by intoxication, both misdemeanors. Lamp was arrested at his
residence by Deputy Sheriff K. Travaglio and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 1 Mar 09 at 9:55 pm.
