On 19 Feb 09 Kevin Francis, age 52, 507 Lawton
Road, Marietta, reported his wife woke him at 1:00 am after
she noticed their home lost power and she began to hear cracking
and popping noises in the attic. Observing their home from
outside, Mr. Francis saw smoke and immediately moved their
vehicles from the garage. The Devola Fire Department responded
and extinguished the fire before the home sustained substantial
damage. Mr. Francis, who has asthma, had trouble catching his
breath after inhaling a small quantity of smoke and was transported
to Marietta Memorial Hospital as a precaution.
On 19 Feb 09 Michael Roseland, age 54, 66
Emory Lane, Little Hocking, reported when his wife left for
work she noticed their mailbox post had been pushed over and
that there were four other mailboxes laying in their yard.
Mr. Roseland said the damage caused appears to be minor. This
case remains under investigation (592).
On 19 Feb 09 Cheryl J. Handschumaker, age
42, 780 Hills Bridge Road, Marietta, reported an individual
with whom her seventy-three year old mother is vaguely acquainted
barged into her mother’s home. Ms. Handschumaker said
the suspect asked to use her mother’s phone and stole
a change purse containing approximately $4. This case remains
under investigation (712).
On 19 Feb 09 EMS personnel reported they responded
to a distress call involving a possible overdose at 817 Masonic
Park Road Lot 1, Marietta, and a male resident had cursed at
them and refused them entry. Hearing what sounded like fighting
inside the residence, Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio entered the
home through an unlocked door and was angrily greeted by a
highly intoxicated male identified as Michael B. Page, age
41. Mr. Page refused to allow Deputy Travaglio to speak to
the woman, instead he began yelling profanities, approached
Deputy Travaglio in a threatening manner and attempted to push
him out of the home. A brief struggle ensued and Deputy Travaglio
took Mr. Page into custody. Also appearing quite inebriated,
the female in the residence, Georgia Hall, age 46, had swelling
on the side of her face she said was caused when Mr. Page punched
her. Escorted to EMS personnel outside, Ms. Hall became combative,
started swinging her arms and nearly struck several people
attempting to assist her. As a result of the incident Deputy
Travaglio arrested Mr. Page for domestic violence, resisting
arrest, obstructing official business and disorderly conduct
by intoxication. Arrested as well, Ms. Hall was charged with
disorderly conduct by intoxication. When transported to the
Washington County Jail Mr. Page tested .343 BAC and Ms. Hall
tested .214 BAC.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Carl Nelson Robison, age 41, 121 ½ Greene Street Apt.
3, Marietta, for a felony and a misdemeanor charge of nonsupport
of dependants. Robison was arrested at the Four Seasons by
Patrolman McCracken of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 Feb 09
at 12:47 am.
Scott Alex Huxley, age 25, 749 Greene Street Apt. A, Marietta,
for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. Huxley was arrested
in Marietta by Patrolman Hickey of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
19 Feb 09 at 4:30 am.
Erin Catherine Burns, age 20, 749 Greene Street Apt. A, Marietta,
for underage consumption of alcohol and for theft, both misdemeanors.
Burns was arrested on Greene Street by Patrolman Thomas of
the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 19 Feb 09 at 4:31 am.
Helena Denise Riggs, age 35, 1455 East Branch
Road, Lowell, for contempt for failing to pay fines, a misdemeanor.
Riggs was arrested at 300 Starlite Drive by Lt. Gherke of the
Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 19 Feb 09 at 9:05 am.
Georgia Lynn Hall, age 46, 817 Masonic Park Road Lot 1, Marietta,
for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Hall
was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 Feb 09
at 7:00 pm.
Michael Brian Page, age 41, 817 Masonic Park Road Lot 1, Marietta,
for domestic violence, resisting arrest, obstructing official
business and for disorderly conduct by intoxication, all misdemeanors.
Page was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 Feb 09
at 7:00 pm.
William Christopher Anderson, age 25, 7900 Germantown Road,
Lower Salem, for assault and for tampering with evidence, both
felonies. Anderson was arrested at the Marietta City Police
Department by Patrolman Wenzel and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 19 Feb 09 at 8:30 pm.
Tytus Lamarr Shields, age 20, 121 Muskingum Drive, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Shields was arrested at his residence
by Patrolman Thomas of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 Feb 09
at 8:50 pm.
