On 17 Feb 09 Deputy Sheriff Hornbeck attempted
to conduct a traffic stop on a Chevy Camaro traveling northbound
on State Route 555 when the driver of the vehicle accelerated
away. Finding the vehicle on Hill Road in Bartlett with its
door ajar, Deputy Hornbeck received permission to search the
residence from the homeowner. Inside Deputy Hornbeck found
Anthony T. Hill, age 19, 1154 Patten Mills Road, Cutler, hiding
in a bedroom and found the only set of keys to the vehicle
located on a nearby nightstand. As a result of the incident
Deputy Hornbeck arrested Mr. Hill for failure to comply with
the order/signal of an officer and operating a vehicle without
a license and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
On 17 Feb 09 Deputy Sheriffs Anderson and
Simmons were dispatched to a dispute over property at the residence
of Don G. Frye, age 45, 5950 State Route 530, Lowell. At the
residence to assist his daughter in moving her belongings,
Charles S. Neville, age 65, 4550 EJ Ross Lane, Stockport, said
the point of contention was a generator that both parties claimed
belonged to them. Witnesses provided conflicting statements
on the disagreement, leaving the Deputies unable to determine
the primary aggressor. As a result, Deputy Sheriff Anderson
requested summonses for Mr. Frye and Mr. Neville for disorderly
conduct.
On 17 Feb 09 Pat Huck, age 49, 370 Arends
Ridge Road, Marietta, reported sometime between 15 and 16 Feb
an unknown suspect(s) cut the locks off four units in a storage
facility he owns at 103 Deerwalk Circle, Marietta. Until the
renters are contacted, it is unknown what, if any property
is missing. This case remains under investigation (610).
On 17 Feb 09 a twenty-four year old Marietta
resident reported an acquaintance who is indebted to her for
$60 threatened her over the phone when she spoke to him about
his debt. This case remains under investigation (805).
ONE INJURED AT MARIETTA INDUSTRIAL ENTERPRISES
DURING AN INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENT
On 17 Feb 09 at 1530 the Sheriff’s Office received a
call concerning an industrial accident which had occurred at
Marietta Industrial Enterprises, 101 Blue Knob Road, Marietta,
OH. Ricky L. Coull, age 53, 23 Kendall Avenue, Parkersburg,
WV was assisting in the movement of carbon black bags which
weighed approximately 1700 pounds when one accidentally fell
pinning him to the floor. An operator of a fork lift was able
to spear the bag and remove it from the victim within a short
period of time. Coull was transported to St. Joseph Hospital
by the Warren Emergency Squad where he is listed in serious,
but stable condition. The incident appears to be accidental
and will be referred to OSHA for further investigation.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Anthony Trent Hill, age 19, 1154 Patten Mills
Road, Cutler, for failure to comply with the order/signal of
an officer and for operating a vehicle without a license, both
misdemeanors. Hill was arrested in Bartlett by Deputy Sheriff
Hornbeck and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17
Feb 09 at 2:48 am.
Yvonne Michelle Hicks, age 38, 845 County
House Lane, Marietta, for violating the terms of her probation,
a misdemeanor. Hicks was arrested at the Washington County
Courthouse by Deputy Sheriff Malone and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 17 Feb 09 at 10:28 am.
Amy Jo Jacobson, age 33, 1194 Warren Chapel Road, Marietta,
for violating the terms of her probation, a felony. Jacobson
was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Gilchrist and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Feb 09 at 3:09
pm.
