On 11 Feb 09 Bryan Mitchell, age 26, 1416
Lancaster Street, Marietta, reported a month ago he paid a

On 11 Feb 09 Tyler G. Jarvis, age 22, 1231
Ellis Run Road, Cutler, reported his girlfriend woke him after
hearing an odd noise and when he looked outside he noticed
the dome lights in their vehicles were on. Seeing an unknown
vehicle and at least one suspect outside, Mr. Jarvis said he
grabbed his shotgun and fired three warning shots. At that
point the suspect(s) fled in the vehicle toward Two Mile Run
Road. Sgt. Stackpole and Deputy Richards examined the home
and found the suspect(s) cut a screen to enter Jarvis’ living
room and removed a window to enter a garage on the property.
Stolen from the home and garage were a plasma TV, a Playstation
3, X-Box games, Craftsman tools and a stereo system. The only
item stolen from the vehicles at the residence was a Macbook
laptop computer but the suspect(s) caused substantial damage
to the dashboards of the vehicles in an attempt to remove the
stereos. This case remains under investigation.
On 11 Feb 09 Deputy Sheriff Thorpe requested
a summons for a sixteen year old Little Hocking resident to
appear in Juvenile Court on a charge of delinquency by committing
burglary. Suspicious that her foster child gave her a gold
ring he found on the street, the teenager’s foster mother
began phoning neighbors. Upon receiving a phone call, Brian
McCoy, age 40, 3790 School House Road, Little Hocking, realized
his wedding ring and a Dell laptop computer were missing from
his home. When questioned, the juvenile said he took the ring
while he visited Mr. McCoy’s son. The teenager stated
he returned to Mr. McCoy’s home when he knew no one was
there and entered the house through an unlocked door to steal
the computer. The juvenile commented that he took the ring
and computer because he thought it was fun and because he wanted
a laptop to use.
