On 9 Feb 09 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued a
citation to Melissa K. Lowe, age 32, 727 Greene Street, Marietta,
for driving under a suspended license. Deputy Smeeks stopped
Ms. Lowe for operating an unsafe vehicle at the intersection
of Front and Putnam streets in Marietta. The traffic stop occurred
after Deputy Smeeks noticed a piece of the undercarriage on
Ms. Lowe’s vehicle was dragging on the roadway.
On 9 Feb 09 Deputy Sheriff Spencer requested
a summons for a fourteen year old Lowell resident to appear
in Juvenile Court on a charge of delinquency by domestic violence.
Upset that his twelve year old brother was playing his video
game without permission, the teenager lost his temper and began
punching his brother. The children’s mother said the
teenager wrestled his brother to the floor, repeatedly kicked
and punched him and broke his brother’s glasses in the
process.
On 9 Feb 09 a fifteen year old Marietta resident
reported while he was in gym class that afternoon an unknown
suspect(s) stole an MP3 player and a Samsung mobile phone from
his locker in the boys locker room at Frontier High School.
This case remains under investigation (500).
On 9 Feb 09 the son of Yvonne D. Griffith,
age 72, 27400 State Route 7 Lot 79, Marietta, reported he believes
another family member opened two credit accounts in his mother’s
name and is using the accounts to purchase items for herself.
This case remains under investigation (232).

Office received the following warrants:
Bryan D. Babcock, age 42, 470 Cornerville Road,
Marietta, for possession of clonazepam on 12 Jan 09.
Duane E. Little, age 26, 2690 Milner Road, Waterford, for
failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines
in the sum of $733.20.
Denise R. Malone, age 39, 303 Main Street, Lower Salem, for
failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines
in the sum of $475.80.
Amy L. Marshall, age 32, 740 Dugan Road, Belpre, for failure
to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the
sum of $221.00.
Jeffrey R. Martin, age 30, 906 17th Street, Parkersburg, for
failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines
in the sum of $1,120.70.
Robin D. Wiley, age 46, 1209 Cisler Drive Apt. 3, Marietta,
for violating the terms of her probation by failing to appear
for an appointment and by failing to complete counseling as
ordered by the court.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Christopher Allen Peyton, age 19, 311 Maple Street, Marietta,
for a felony charge of violating the terms of his probation
and for two misdemeanor counts of theft. Peyton was arrested
on Harmar Street by Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 9 Feb 09 at 3:40 am.
Michael James Farnsworth, age 19, 5775 Michaelis Road, Marietta,
for a felony charge of violating the terms of his probation
and for two misdemeanor counts of theft. Farnsworth was arrested
on Harmar Street by Patrolman Walters of the Marietta City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 9 Feb 09 at 5:03 am.
Ryan David McFann, age 23, 105 State Route
555 Apt. 5, Little Hocking, for OVI, possession of drug paraphernalia,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines and for violating the terms of his probation, all misdemeanors.
McFann turned himself in to Deputy Sheriff Malone and was processed
into the Washington County Jail on 9 Feb 09 at 11:10 am.
