On 21 Jan 09 Lt. Canavan was dispatched to
6500 Germantown Road, Lower Salem, in response to a report
of an intoxicated male who was threatening to cut his arms
off in front of his two children. At the scene, Lt. Canavan
found Shawn D. Flesher, age 35, with a cut on his wrist that
a witness stated he inflicted in front of his children. A witness
informed Lt. Canavan that Mr. Flesher ingested approximately
twenty Xanax pills, was consuming alcohol and threatened to
further harm himself. While Flesher was transported to Marietta
Memorial Hospital for treatment, Lt. Canavan requested a summons
for him for disorderly conduct by intoxication.
On 21 Jan 09 Melissa Christman, age 34, 940
Goose Run Road, Marietta, reported a check she wrote to AT&T
in December was stolen from her mailbox, forged to a new payee
and cashed at a local bank. This case remains under investigation
(790).
On 21 Jan 09 a thirty-one year old Marietta
resident reported her ex-husband threatened her over the phone
that morning and that she feared he may carry out his threats.

On 21 Jan 09 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio conducted
a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Carl W. Davis Jr., age
21, 6396 State Route 78 NE, McConnelsville, for failing to
signal when turning from Greene Street onto Acme Street. Observing
Mr. Davis had red and watery eyes, Deputy Travaglio also noticed
the backseat passenger, Crystal D. Hoover, age 27, 186 Main
Street, Lowell, appeared nervous. Under questioning Ms. Hoover
stated she had a marijuana pipe in her lunchbox and surrendered
the contraband to Deputy Travaglio. A further search of the
vehicle revealed a bag of marijuana and a baggy containing
eight Percocet pills in Ms. Hoover’s purse. Deputy Carr,
who arrived at the scene to assist, located a marijuana joint
concealed in a cigarette pack that Mr. Davis admitted belonged
to him. As a result of the traffic stop, Deputy Travaglio arrested
Ms. Hoover and Mr. Davis for possession of drugs and possession
of drug paraphernalia and transported them to the Washington
County Jail.

Office received the following warrants:
Larry W. Bishop, age 47, 18 Mayfair Drive,
Mineral Wells, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines in the sum of $796.
Dustin L. Brooks, age 22, 225 S. Seventh Street, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines in the sum of $1,550.95.
Charday M. Underdown, age 20, 1910 State Route 550, Bartlett,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines in the sum of $239.85.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Crystal Dawn Hoover, age 27, 186 Main Street,
Lowell, for possession of drug paraphernalia and for two counts
of possession of drugs, all misdemeanors. Hoover was arrested
on State Route 7 by Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 21 Jan 09 at 9:48 am.
Carl Winston Davis Jr., age 21, 6396 State Route 78 NE, McConnelsville,
for possession of drugs and for possession of drug paraphernalia,
both misdemeanors. Davis was arrested on State Route 7 by Deputy
Sheriff S. Travaglio and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 21 Jan 09 at 10:10 am.
Kara Nichole Hannah, age 26, PO Box 35, Hepzibah, WV, for
violating the terms of her probation, a felony. Hannah was
picked up at the North Central Regional Jail by Deputy Sheriff
Underwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on
21 Jan 09 at 12:15 pm.
Jeffrey Lee Ingram, age 29, 604 Cross Street, Belpre, for
a felony charge of violating the terms of his parole and for
a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence. Ingram was arrested
at his residence by Patrolman Williams of the Belpre City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
21 Jan 09 at 4:34 pm.
Calvin James Martin, age 36, 11265 State Route 26, Marietta,
for felonious assault. Martin turned himself in to Deputy Sheriff
McLeish and was processed into the Washington County Jail on
21 Jan 09 at 6:40 pm.
