On 18 Jan 09 Deputy Sheriff Day requested
a summons for a thirteen year old Marietta resident to appear
in Juvenile Court on a charge of delinquency by committing
public indecency. That evening the juvenile’s parents
reported their son exposed himself to a four year old girl
he had sitting on his lap. The teenager’s parents said
at no point did their son touch the girl inappropriately. Furthermore,
the parents said they would keep the girl away from the suspect
until the teenager could be removed from the residence.
On 18 Jan 09 an employee of the Washington
County Juvenile Center, 1699 Colegate Drive, Marietta, reported
a sixteen year old Lowell resident fled the facility without
permission. The employee later phoned and said the Marietta
Police Department returned the juvenile to the center and that
they would file delinquency by escape charges.
On 18 Jan 09 Sharon L. Sargent, age 54, 10860
State Route 550, Vincent, reported she believes a friend of
her son has stolen approximately $335 in cash and jewelry from
her home sometime during the past three weeks. This case remains
under investigation (500).
On 18 Jan 09 Carey Carr, 105 Country Club
Drive, Marietta, reported the driver of a vehicle left a note
on his windshield indicating he struck his 2006 Volkswagen
in the parking lot of Souls Harbor Church, 115 Caywood Road,
Marietta. When contacted, the driver of the other vehicle,
Michael D. Offenberger II, age 19, 107 Pennsylvania Avenue,
Marietta, said he stopped his vehicle in the parking lot and
it began to slide backwards. Mr. Offenberger said the rear
bumper of his Ford Ranger struck the front passenger side fender
of Mr. Carr’s vehicle. Both vehicles sustained minor
damage (500).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Travis Lee Klein, age 19, 612 Washington Square, Marietta,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Klein was arrested at
his residence by Patrolman Hickey of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
18 Jan 09 at 8:00 am.
Daniel Allen Taylor, age 23, 502 Ferguson Street, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Taylor
was arrested on Vine Street in Marietta by Probation Officer
Ferrell and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18
Jan 09 at 9:45 pm.
