On 12 Jan 09 a local resident reported receiving
a phone call soliciting a donation for the election campaign
of a county elected official. The victim declined to make a
donation and deemed the call suspicious. The Sheriff’s
Office advises residents to exercise diligence when receiving
such calls and to inform the Sheriff’s Office of any
suspicions you may have (1093).
On 12 Jan 09 Sgt. Underwood and Deputy Sheriff
Norman investigated reports that two subjects in the downtown
Lowell area were entering vehicles. Finding a truck abandoned
with its dome light on and keys in the ignition, the Deputies
followed footprints in the snow to a residence on the 200 block
of Fourth Street. Speaking to Jericho L. Pugh, age 19, 1490
Pugh Road, Stockport, the Deputies noticed Mr. Pugh wore footwear
similar to those tracks they observed in the snow. Pugh had
an odor of alcohol and was found in possession of a marijuana
cigarette when he was patted down for weapons. Read his rights,
Pugh later admitted taking the truck found at the scene from
a residence at 176 Third Street, Lowell, and that he drove
it around Lowell before abandoning it on the 300 block of Third
Street. Arrested for the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle,
underage consumption, possession of drugs and for possession
of drug paraphernalia, Pugh was transported to the Washington
County Jail. Also arrested at the residence with Pugh was Ryan
Joseph Hart, age 19, 200 Mechanic Street, Macksburg, for underage
consumption of alcohol. Hart had bloodshot eyes and admitted
consuming three or four beers earlier in the evening.
On 12 Jan 09 Sgt. Underwood requested a summons
for Charlotte M. Hunt, age 32, 4039 Loomis Ridge Road, Parkersburg,
for disorderly conduct. The previous evening Ms. Hunt’s
ex-husband Keith, age 34, 2190 Veto Road, Vincent, reported
Ms. Hunt was retrieving their children from his visitation
when she became upset over their parenting plan. Mr. Hunt said
his ex-wife began cussing during the argument that ensued and
ended she pulled her vehicle toward him in an aggressive manner.
Mr. Hunt stated Ms. Hunt then backed up and accelerated forward,
spinning gravel onto him and his truck.
On 12 Jan 09 Sgt. Stackpole requested a summons
for a fifteen year old Marietta resident to appear in Juvenile
Court on a charge of delinquency by domestic violence. The
teenager’s mother reported her son is out of control,
runs away constantly and has threatened to kill the entire
family several times in the past. This afternoon the mother
said the juvenile got mad at his nine year old sister, grabbed
a butter knife and drew it back in a stabbing motion. Uninjured,
the girl ran from the room, afraid her brother would hurt her.
On 12 Jan 09 the manager of Par Mar at 17785
State Route 7, Marietta, reported an employee misused a food
stamp card. The manager said Stephanie N. Cremeans, age 23,
26935 State Route 7 Apt. 2C, Marietta, was terminated after
what was believed to be the only time she typed in another
employees food stamp card number to purchase items for herself.
However, an audit revealed Ms. Cremeans used the information
on a number of occasions and the purchases total approximately
$50. Interviewed by Deputy Sheriff Anderson, Ms. Cremeans said
she memorized the card number and PIN by observing her coworker.
Ms. Cremeans stated she only used the card to purchase small
amounts of food because she was hungry. In consequence, Deputy
Anderson arrested Ms. Cremeans for a felony charge of illegal
use of food stamps and transported her to the Washington County
Jail.
On 12 Jan 09 Mike J. Foster, age 38, 302 Adonis
Ridge Road, Sistersville, WV, reported an unknown suspect(s)
cut the catalytic converter off his 1999 Jeep Cherokee while
it was parked outside at Family Ford between 8 Jan and 12 Jan.
This case remains under investigation (1106).

Ryan Joseph Hart, age 19, 200 Mechanic Street, Macksburg,
for underage consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Hart was
arrested in Lowell by Sgt. Underwood of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 12 Jan 09 at 1:56 am.
Jericho Lee Pugh, age 19, 1490 Pugh Road, Stockport, for the
unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, underage consumption,
possession of drugs and for possession of drug paraphernalia,
all misdemeanors. Pugh was arrested in Lowell by Sgt. Underwood
of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 12 Jan 09 at 2:41 am.
Joshua James Blewett, age 21, Marietta, for
theft and for breach of recognizance, both misdemeanors. Blewett
was arrested at Influent by Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 Jan 09 at 9:49
am.
Stephanie Nicole Cremeans, age 23, 26935 State Route 7 Apt.
2C, Marietta, for illegal use of food stamps, a misdemeanor.
Cremeans was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Anderson
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 Jan 09
at 3:37 pm.
Alisha Dawn Small, age 28, 4506 Butler Street Apt. 3, Parkersburg,
for violating the terms of her probation, for failure to appear
at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines and for operating
a vehicle with fictitious plates, all misdemeanors. Small was
picked up at the Athens County line by Deputy Sheriff Spencer
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 Jan 09
at 6:10 pm.
Dennis Allan Morris II, age 18, 90 Killwell Run Road, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Morris
was arrested at the Marietta City Police Department by Patrolman
Thomas and was processed into the Washington County Jail on
12 Jan 09 at 11:24 pm.
