On 8 Jan 09 Lt. Wilson arrested Bryan A. Huff, age 39, 24 Colegate Drive, Marietta, for his second OVI offense in six years and his fifth total OVI. Stopped for committing several traffic violations on State Route 821 near State Route 60, admitted consuming beer that evening and had a strong odor of alcohol. Performing poorly on field sobriety tests, Mr. Huff was transported to the Washington County Jail where he tested .186 BAC.

On 8 Jan 09 Judy Haas, age 62, 6000 State Route 530, Lowell, reported she was inside her home when Melinda S. Totman, age 45, 8800 State Route 821, Lower Salem, entered her home uninvited. Ms. Haas said Ms. Totman screamed as she began kicking and hitting her and her friend. Ms. Totman finally fled and was apprehended later at the Wrangler Tavern. Charged with assault, Ms. Totman was transported to the Washington County Jail (107).

On 8 Jan 09 Jack Brown, age 82, 357 Briggs Hill Road, Belpre, reported he could not find his dog and when he finally located the canine it was attempting to eat a deer carcass that was dumped on his property inside a blue trash can. This case remains under investigation (608).

On 8 Jan 09 Karen S. McConnell, age 51, 203 Oak Drive, Little Hocking, reported at some point during the past day her wallet and its contents were stolen from her purse. Ms. McConnell said she ran several errands during that time frame approximately $200, a bottle of Oxycodone pills and several credit cards were taken. This case remains under investigation (232).

April R. Hill, age 22, 1815 Main Street, Stockport, for trespassing onto the property of Sponey’s IGA on 11 Dec 08.

Sherman D. Holder, age 25, 727 E. Market Street, Washington, OH, for failing to appear for a change of plea hearing on 6 Jan 09.

Ashanti R. Johnson, age 21, 227 N. Stout Street, Harrisville, WV, for failing to appear for trial on 5 Jan 09.

Nicole R. Lowers, age 31, 305 Center Street, Beverly, for driving off from the Beverly Starfire without paying for $50.01 in gasoline on 13 Oct 08.

Brenda L. Miller, age 40, 1001 Colonial Drive Apt. B4, Marietta, for the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle on 24 Dec 08.

Justin K. Tewkesbury, age 21, 521 Barclay Street Lot 15, Belpre, for failing to appear for pretrial on 30 Dec 08.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Daryl Edward Adams, age 55, 504 Front Street Apt. B, Marietta, for obstructing official business and for disturbing the peace, both misdemeanors. Adams was arrested at his residence by Patrolman McCracken of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Jan 09 at 1:54 am.

Bryan Andrew Huff, age 39, 24 Colegate Drive, Marietta, for OVI, a misdemeanor. Huff was arrested on State Route 60 by Lt. Wilson of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Jan 09 at 3:17 am.

Rebecca Lou Sergent, age 18, 1320 Caywood Road, Marietta, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Sergent was arrested on Washington Street in Marietta by Probation Officer Ferrell and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Jan 09 at 3:55 pm.

Jeffrey Allen Braun, age 21, 1080 Walsh Road, Cutler, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Braun was arrested on Washington Street in Marietta by Probation Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Jan 09 at 4:02 pm.

Richard Anthony Waters, age 43, Waterford, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Waters was arrested in Marietta by Probation Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Jan 09 at 4:36 pm.

Rodrick Domion Pettis, age 20, Market Street, Marietta, for failure to reinstate his operator’s license, for not wearing a seat belt and for operating a vehicle with expired plates, all misdemeanors. Pettis was arrested at the intersection of Franklin and Market streets in Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Jan 09 at 6:05 pm.

Melinda Sue Totman, age 45, 8800 State Route 821, Lower Salem, for assault, a misdemeanor. Totman was arrested at the Wrangler Tavern by Deputy Sheriff McLeish and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Jan 09 at 8:25 pm.

Eric Brandon Siders, age 20, 6070 Sandhill Road, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Siders was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Simmons and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Jan 09 at 8:30 pm.
