On 31 Dec 08 Deputy Sheriff Mankins arrested
Michael A. Elder, age 49, 185 Maple Drive, Williamstown, for
OVI and for driving left of center. Stopped on State Route
550 near Silver Globe Road, Mr. Elder swerved outside of his
lane at least three times and had a strong odor of alcohol.
Admitting he should not have been driving, Mr. Elder performed
poorly on field sobriety tests. When transported to the Washington
County Jail Mr. Elder tested .167 BAC.
On 31 Dec 08 Amanda J. Lilly, age 26, 2197
Old River Road, Williamstown, reported she was working as a
healthcare provider at 11565 State Route 821 in Lowell when
a housemate of her client stole her blood pressure cuff and
left the residence with her car keys. Ms. Lilly said she followed
the suspect, Donald J. Covey, age 34, outside where he entered
her vehicle and began rummaging through her belongings. Appearing
highly intoxicated, Mr. Covey attempted to drive away before
Ms. Lilly turned off the ignition. Mr. Covey proceeded to yell
at Ms. Lilly, causing her to fear for her safety and prompting
her to lock herself in her vehicle until help arrived. Unable
to provide a plausible explanation for his actions, Mr. Covey
was arrested for attempted automobile theft and theft and transported
to the Washington County Jail (1106).
On 31 Dec 08 Daniel Turner, age 48, 400 Warrior
Drive, Vincent, reported he just stepped out of the shower
when his estranged wife, who has never lived at the residence
and was uninvited that morning, grabbed him by the neck and
shouted “I’m going to kill you!” Mr. Turner
stated he struggled with his wife, Vickie S. Turner, age 47,
9383 Veto Road, Belpre, until the two fell to the floor and
Ms. Turner fled. Identifying Ms. Turner by the clothing she
wore during the attack, Deputy Sheriff Hornbeck arrested Ms.
Turner for burglary and domestic violence and transported her
to the Washington County Jail.
On 31 Dec 08 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes arrested
Terry L. Bunner, age 42, 35 Sweet Apple Road, Vincent, for
OVI and for driving under a suspended license. Patrolling the
Vincent area after receiving reports of an intoxicated driver,
Deputy Rhodes located Mr. Bunner and the suspect vehicle at
his residence. A neighbor of Mr. Bunner informed Deputy Rhodes
that he observed Mr. Bunner driving on the wrong side of the
road and haphazardly entered the driveway when he returned
home. Mr. Bunner appeared intoxicated and performed poorly
on field sobriety tests. When transported to the Washington
County Jail Mr. Bunner tested .167 BAC.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Vickie Sue Turner, age 47, 9383 Veto Road,
Belpre, for a felony charge of burglary and for misdemeanor
charges of domestic violence and telephone harassment. Turner
was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Hornbeck and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Dec 08 at 10:19
am.
Donald James Covey, age 34, Marietta, for a felony charge
of automobile theft and for a misdemeanor charge of theft.
Covey was arrested in Lower Salem by Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Dec 08
at 11:40 am.
Douglas Allen Hendershot, age 36, 665 Baker Drive, New Matamoras,
for aggravated robbery, a felony. Hendershot was picked up
at the Noble Correctional Institution by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Dec 08
at 1:50 pm.
Kenneth Royden Sparks, age 31, 319 Simpson Street, Marietta,
for burglary, a felony. Sparks was arrested on Putnam Street
by Lt. Canavan of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Dec 08
at 5:09 pm.
Amanda Rena Dickerson, age 24, 427 Bibbee Ridge, Ripley, WV,
for possession of drugs, a felony. Dickerson was arrested in
Belpre by Patrolman Williams of the Belpre City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Dec 08
at 5:15 pm.
Michael Andrew Elder, age 49, 185 Maple Drive, Williamstown,
for OVI and for driving left of center, both misdemeanors.
Elder was arrested at the intersection of Front and Butler
streets by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 31 Dec 08 at 8:15 pm.
