On 26 Dec 08 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued
a citation to Christopher W. McCabe, age 35, 1635 Braun Road,
Belpre, for traveling 70 mph in a 50 mph zone. Deputy Smeeks
stopped Mr. McCabe on State Route 7 near milepost seven in
Blennerhassett Township.
On 26 Dec 08 a forty-seven year old Little
Hocking resident reported when she searched her sixteen year
old son’s bedroom she found a bag with what appeared
to be marijuana residue in it and another bag containing prescription
pills. Confronted at the home the juvenile claimed “he
knew the law” and that “it was not illegal to smoke
marijuana, just to possess it.” From the teenager’s
bedroom and from a storage building on the property, Deputy
Sheriffs Richards and Smeeks confiscated rolling papers, a
marijuana pipe and another baggie with a marijuana bud in it.
Remaining defiant after he tested positive for THC, the teenager
had the impudence to ask when he would get his bong back because
he said he spent $30 of his Christmas money on it. As a result
of their investigation Deputy Richards requested a summons
for
the teenager to appear in Juvenile Court on delinquency charges
of possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On 26 Dec 08 James P. Hopkins, age 63, 116
Pine Drive, Little Hocking, reported sometime between 20 and
24 Dec an unknown suspect removed the front license plate,
Ohio number 755XVR, from his vehicle. This case remains under
investigation (608).
On 26 Dec 08 Jo Ann Edwards, age 50, 165 Cornerstone
Drive, Marietta, reported after noticing two gifts were not
opened on Christmas she performed an inventory of her family’s
belongings. Mrs. Edwards determined that two new Playstation
3 games were missing as well as four old Playstation 2 games,
three necklaces, a DVD, four watches, several rings and other
jewelry. This case remains under investigation (610).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Patricia Ann Bonar, age 31, 735 Silver Globe Road, Marietta,
for failure to appear, a felony. Bonar was arrested at Marietta
Memorial Hospital by Patrolman Thomas of the Marietta City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 26 Dec 08 at 8:20 am.
Elton Dean Hart Jr., age 33, 2701 State Route 83, Beverly,
for driving under a suspended license and for speeding, both
misdemeanors. Hart was arrested on State Route 339 by the Ohio
State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 26 Dec 08 at 10:50 am.
