On 21 Dec 08 an employee of White Oak Pharmacy reported witnessing a male subject, later identified as Tyler N. Bailey, age 27, 10260 State Route 550, Vincent, enter the store wearing a bulky coat and then depart the store with items concealed under his coat. Viewing security footage, the employee confirmed Mr. Bailey hid a wrist support brace and a pair of diabetic socks under his coat and left the store without paying for the items. Shortly thereafter Callie A. Stauffer, age 33, 10260 State Route 550, Vincent, entered the store and unsuccessfully attempted to return the items in exchange for cash. Interviewed after being seen entering her residence, Ms. Stauffer admitted to Deputy Sheriff K. Travaglio that she tried to return the items stolen by Bailey so she could obtain money to buy drugs. Mr. Bailey confirmed Ms. Stauffer’s account and was arrested by Deputy Travaglio for theft. Arrested for receiving stolen property, Ms. Stauffer was transported to the Washington County Jail along with Mr. Bailey.

On 21 Dec 08 Amanda S. Berentz, age 28, 724 Main Street, New Matamoras, reported being involved in an argument with her husband after the two returned home from a night at a local bar. Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio confirmed with both parties the incident was only verbal and no threat or act of domestic violence occurred.

On 21 Dec 08 Jessica J. Cramer, age 27, 212 Maple Street, Newport, reported sometime between 8 am that morning and 10 pm that evening an unknown suspect(s) entered her unlocked Chevy Cavalier and pried a Pioneer CD player from the dash of the vehicle. This case remains under investigation (1106).

On 21 Dec 08 William L. Whittekind, age 44, 2016 Warren Chapel Road, Marietta, reported at some point during the past three or four months a Smith and Wesson .38 caliber handgun was stolen from his home. This case remains under investigation (707).

On 21 Dec 08 Deputy Sheriff Anderson arrested Roger D. Stark, age 50, 5853 State Route 821, Whipple, for domestic violence. A witness at the Stark residence earlier reported seeing Mr. Stark grab his wife Teresa, age 49, by the neck and shove her against a counter.

On 21 Dec 08 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio issued a citation to Gregory L. Keister, age 55, 2500 Caribbean Road, Dubois, PA, for not stopping at a red light. Deputy Travaglio stopped Mr. Keister after he failed to stop at a red light as he traveled southbound on State Route 7 at the intersection of Sandhill Road in Marietta Township.

On 21 Dec 08 Michael Hardie, age 25, 4090 Fifteenmile Creek Road, Marietta, reported he awoke at 4:00 am to the sound of three gunshots. Venturing outside to investigate, Mr. Hardie observed Michelle Thompson, age 34, 4370 Fifteenmile Creek Road, running down a hill with a gun slung around her shoulder. Mr. Hardie ordered Ms. Thompson off his property and heard her shout profanities as she fled. Later that morning Mr. Hardie discovered his vehicle’s windshield was shattered and noticed what appeared to be three bullet holes in the side of his vehicle. Prior to Deputy Sheriff Anderson interviewing Ms. Thompson, she contacted Mr. Hardie and apologized for walking across his property but denied firing any weapon. Mr. Hardie said Ms. Thompson’s comment was suspicious due to the fact that she never comes onto his property. Mr. Hardie also commented that there is animosity between him and Ms. Thompson and her boyfriend because he refused to sell property to them. As a result of his investigation Deputy Anderson requested a summons for Ms. Thompson for criminal damaging and criminal trespassing.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Roger Dale Stark, age 50, 5853 State Route 821, Whipple, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Stark was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Anderson and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Dec 08 at 2:10 pm.

Tyler Nathaniel Bailey, age 27, 10260 State Route 550, Vincent, for being a fugitive from justice and for a misdemeanor charge of theft. Bailey was arrested in Barlow by Deputy Sheriff K. Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Dec 08 at 5:00 pm.

Callie Alida Stauffer, age 33, 10260 State Route 550, Vincent, for receiving stolen property, a misdemeanor. Stauffer was arrested in Barlow by Deputy Sheriff K. Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Dec 08 at 5:03 pm.
