On 16 Dec 08 a caller reported seeing a vehicle
stuck in a field at 1674 McGill Road, Vincent. At the scene
Deputy Sheriff Lockhart observed tire tracks the field and
noticed the 1998 Chevy Cavalier appeared to be stuck in a barbed
wire fence. Deputy Lockhart is attempting to identify the driver
of the vehicle, which is owned by Steven Lee, 1145 Browns Road,
Marietta, to obtain further details regarding the incident.
On 16 Dec 08 Rick Browning, age 54, 20 Young
Road, Marietta, reported he received his prescription for Xanax
at the end of October and sometime after that 132 of the pills
were stolen. This case remains under investigation (296).
On 16 Dec 08 an employee of U-Haul, 2980 Morris
Road, Columbus, reported a customer was to return a rented
a tow dolly on 24 Feb 08 and as of 15 Dec the trailer has not
been returned to its rental location at Hensler’s Market.
This case remains under investigation (945).
On 16 Dec 08 William Zinser, age 50, 6361
State Route 555, Little Hocking, reported he believed his daughter
and her fourteen year old son were being abused by his daughter’s
live-in boyfriend. Investigating the claim, Deputy Sheriff
S. Travaglio determined Mr. Zinser’s daughter was not
assaulted and that the alleged suspect had permission to discipline
the teenager for his use of obscene language.
On 16 Dec 08 an employee of Weaver Logging
and Lumber reported thirteen “swamp mats,” which
are oak logs placed on soggy ground to solidify it for heavy
trucks, were stolen from a logging site located on Fifteenmile
Creek Road in Liberty Township. The employee estimates the
total loss at $2,600. This case remains under investigation
(1106).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Derek Allen Cope, age 20, 857A Regina Court,
Columbus, for theft and for violating the terms of his probation,
both misdemeanors. Cope was picked up at the Franklin County
Jail by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 16 Dec 08 at 4:25 pm.
Curtis Scott McGregor, age 29, 115 Holiday Drive, Marietta,
for theft and for burglary, both felonies. McGregor was picked
up at the Franklin County Jail by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Dec 08
at 4:25 pm.
