On 12 Dec 08 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio arrested
Ivan L. Patterson Jr., age 18, 106 Riley Drive Apt. 3, Marietta,
for operating a vehicle without a license, for possession of
drugs and for possession of drug paraphernalia. Stopped on
Spring Street for having an inoperable license plate light,
Mr. Patterson had red, watery eyes and smelled of burnt marijuana.
Patterson admitted smoking marijuana earlier in the evening
and said he was never issued a driver’s license. A subsequent
search of Patterson’s vehicle yielded a bag of marijuana
and a pack of rolling papers.
On 12 Dec 08 Suzann Starr, age 59, 280 Mechanic
Street, Macksburg, reported when she departed her resident
at 3:30 pm she turned off the lights and locked the door. When
Ms. Starr returned home at 10:30 pm the lights were on, the
front door was open and there were cigarette ashes in the toilet
and on the floor in various areas. Ms. Starr found no sign
of forced entry and said no items are missing from the home.
This case remains under investigation (610).
On 12 Dec 08 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio issued
a citation to Joel E. Cooke, age 18, 1195 Sandhill Road, Marietta,
for not wearing a seat belt. Deputy Travaglio originally stopped
Mr. Cooke for having only one functioning headlight while driving
on Sandhill Road near State Route 7 in Marietta Township.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Patterson was arrested on Spring Street by Deputy Sheriff S.
Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on
12 Dec 08 at 4:40 am.
Scott Lee Carpenter, age 46, 413 ½ Third
Street, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation,
a misdemeanor. Carpenter was arrested at Riverside 181 by Probation
officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 12 Dec 08 at 2:26 pm.
Brandon Paul Hayes, age 18, 400 Clinton Street, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Hayes
was picked up at the Juvenile Center by Probation Officer Zimmerman
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 Dec 08
at 4:25 pm.
