On 3 Dec 08 Lt. Coppernoll and Deputy Sheriff
Norman investigated a report of a female standing in the driveway
of 6101 State Route 60, Marietta, and shouting for help. Jade
Tomblin, age 18, stated she was involved in an argument with
her husband over their car breaking down and her husband began
throwing things around their house. Mrs. Tomblin refused to
write a statement but commented she was not afraid of her husband
and said that she only wanted him to leave the residence. Confirming
Mrs. Tomblin’s statement with that of her husband, Deputy
Norman closed this case as unfounded.
On 3 Dec 08 Deputy Sheriff Thorpe issued a
citation to Thomas Jones, age 50, 801 Jones Road, Waterford,
for disorderly conduct. Upset following an argument with his
wife over her smoking habit, Mr. Jones began throwing dishes,
pots and pans around their kitchen. Mrs. Jones said at no time
did she fear for her safety.
On 3 Dec 08 Sarah A. Casto, age 31, 7355 Veto
Road, Belpre, reported she believes an acquaintance took her
1991 Cadillac Deville without permission. Ms. Casto stated
her acquaintance, who was homeless and has been living with
her for the past two weeks, also took her mobile phone and
$180 in cash from her purse. This case remains under investigation
(592).
On 3 Dec 08 a resident on Goose Run Road in
Marietta reported hearing a female shout “don’t
hurt me” near her residence. Arriving at the intersection
of State Route 26 and Caywood Road, Lt. Wilson and Deputy Sheriff
Thorpe observed Larry D. Haught Jr., age 28, 555 Dodd Run Road,
Marietta, grabbing a female around the waist. Mr. Haught obeyed
a request to cross the street to speak with the Deputies and
cursed at them as he approached. Visibly intoxicated, Mr. Haught
ignored orders to keep his hands in view and instead made an
obscene gesture. Refusing to cooperate any further, Mr. Haught
struggled as he was placed on the ground and handcuffed. After
he was taken into custody Haught continued to yell and curse
and threatened to fight with Deputies. In the rear of a cruiser,
Haught threatened to kill the Deputies and their families,
repeatedly struck his head on the Plexiglas divider and attempted
to kick a window out of the car. Charged with aggravated menacing,
disorderly conduct by intoxication and resisting arrest, Haught
was incarcerated in the Washington County Jail.
On 3 Dec 08 Deputy Sheriff K. Travaglio observed
trash dumped along Brooks Road approximately a half mile from
Cow Run Road in Lawrence Township. Contacting township officials
to dispose of the glass bottles, tires, chairs and plastic
bags, Deputy Travaglio will continue her efforts to identify
the origin of the refuse.
On 3 Dec 08 Lt. Canavan and Deputy Sheriff
Spencer responded to a domestic dispute call at 1630 Braun
Road, Belpre. Tammie Ruth-Love, age 44, informed the Deputies
her two sons were involved in a brief disagreement that resulted
in her younger son throwing a cordless phone charger against
the wall. Ms. Ruth said no physical violence took place and
at no time was anyone in fear for their safety. As a result,
Deputy Spencer closed this case as unfounded.
On 3 Dec 08 Alisha Blewett, age 18, 7753 State
Route 530, Lower Salem, reported being involved in a heated
argument with her estranged husband over money she believes
he owes her and her family. Both parties refused to provide
written statements and concurred no act of domestic violence
took place. Therefore Deputy Sheriff Norman closed this case
as unfounded.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Larry Wayne Bishop, age 48, 18 Mayfair Drive,
Mineral Wells, for breach of recognizance, for failure to appear
at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines and for failure
to appear, all misdemeanors. Bishop was picked up at the North
Central Regional Jail by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 3 Dec 08 at 12:15 pm.
Felicia Christine Jackson, age 27, 300 Phillips Street, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Jackson was arrested at Ryan’s
by Patrolman Thomas of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Dec 08 at
6:40 pm.
Larry Dale Haught Jr., age 28, 555 Dodd Run Road, Marietta,
for a felony charge of aggravated menacing and for misdemeanor
charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct by intoxication.
Haught was arrested on State Route 26 by Deputy Sheriff Thorpe
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Dec 08 at
11:05 pm.
