On 24 Nov 08 Derek A. Tewanger, age 21, 34851
Fleeman Road, Lower Salem, was traveling eastbound on Germantown
Road when he encountered a patch of ice and struck the railing
of a bridge with his 2005 Nissan truck. Mr. Tewanger’s
truck sustained functional damage; he reported no injuries
(1184).
On 24 Nov 08 a fifty-five year old Whipple
resident reported at the same time every day for six weeks
she has been receiving threatening and harassing phone calls
from an unknown female. This case remains under investigation
(1106).
On 24 Nov 08 Treva Crock, age 53, 1961 Swift
Road, Waterford, reported her purse fell to the ground after
she mistakenly left it atop her car when she pulled out of
her driveway Saturday evening. Ms. Crock said a neighbor’s
son returned the purse to her but that $200 was missing from
inside it. This case remains under investigation (790).
On 24 Nov 08 Andrea D. Knapp, age 25, 1811
Barnett Ridge Road, Belpre, was traveling eastbound on Veto
Road when he encountered a patch of ice near Briggs Hill Road.
Ms. Knapp overcorrected her steering after traveling left of
the centerline, struck a ditch with the hood of her Chevy SUV
and came to rest after she spun around with her rear bumper
resting against the ditch. None of the passengers in the vehicle
reported injuries; her severely damage SUV was towed from the
scene (790).
On 24 Nov 08 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio requested
a summons for Judith A. Lashley, age 60, 9285 Dickson Road,
New Concord, OH, for passing bad checks. Earlier that day the
owner of Wagner Farms, 10130 State Route 60, Waterford, reported
Ms. Lashley purchased raspberries with a check that was returned
for non-sufficient funds. Contacted regarding the $289 check
she wrote on 11 Jul 08, Ms. Lashley admitted receiving certified
letters requesting payment but ignored them.
On 24 Nov 08 James R. Settlage, age 51, 383
Tick Ridge Road, Vincent, was traveling eastbound on Veto Road
when he encountered a patch of ice near Lake Road when his
Honda CRV slid across the roadway, over a ditch and struck
a utility pole. The utility pole fell into the roadway as Mr.
Settlage’s vehicle careened over a short embankment and
came to rest. Mr. Settlage reported no injuries; his severely
damage SUV was towed from the scene (790).
On 24 Nov 08 an employee of the Washington
County Humane Society, 80 Mount Tom Road, Marietta, reported
an unknown suspect(s) attempted to pry open a Soft drink machine
they rent from Coca Cola. The damage to the machine was superficial,
as the coin dispenser and bill collector still contained money.
This case remains under investigation (1001).
On 24 Nov 08 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio responded
to a domestic dispute at 1045 Sandhill Road Lot 10, Marietta.
The involved parties agreed there was only a heated argument
over money missing from the home and no physical confrontation
occurred. However, during the interview process Deputy Travaglio
smelled an odor of marijuana about Kyle A. Morris, age 27,
103 Muskingum Drive, Marietta. A pat down of Mr. Morris yielded
a cloth bag containing a marijuana pipe with burnt residue.
As a result, Deputy Travaglio arrested Mr. Morris for possession
of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia and transported
him to the Washington County Jail.
On 24 Nov 08 Joseph H. Bui, age 30, 127 Greene
Street Apt. C, Newport, reported while he was away from his
residence between 2 pm and 6 pm the previous day an unknown
suspect(s) stole five Playstation games and six bottles of
his prescription medication. This case remains under investigation
(1184).
On 24 Nov 08 Deputy Sheriff Richards requested
summonses for a twelve year old Vincent resident and a thirteen
year old Cutler resident to appear in Juvenile Court on charges
of delinquency by disorderly conduct. The two boys engaged
in an altercation while riding on their bus after school that
resulted in the twelve year old receiving nineteen stitches
to close a laceration on his head. The twelve year old reportedly
grabbed the thirteen year old around the neck from behind at
which time the thirteen year old backed up in an attempt to
escape the choke hold. At that point the twelve year old struck
the back of his head on a window frame.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Bryon Elliott McKitrick, age 28, 108 Riley Drive Apt. 6, Marietta,
for possession of criminal tools and for breaking and entering,
both felonies. McKitrick was arrested at Rinks by Patrolman
Blasko of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 24 Nov 08 at 7:15 pm.
Kyle Andrew Morris, age 27, 103 Muskingum Drive, Marietta,
for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia,
both misdemeanors. Morris was arrested on Sandhill Road by
Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 24 Nov 08 at 6:29 pm.
Glenn Roger Johnson Jr., age 22, 116 Harmar Street, Marietta,
for a felony charge of assault on a peace officer and for misdemeanor
charges of domestic violence, resisting arrest, obstructing
official business, possession of drugs, possession of drug
paraphernalia and for failure to appear at a court ordered
hearing on unpaid fines. Johnson was arrested at his residence
by Patrolman Sury of the Marietta City Police Department and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 24 Nov 08 at 8:55
pm.
Kari Dawn Pugh, age 19, 14350 State Route 555, Cutler, for
two misdemeanor counts of domestic violence. Pugh was arrested
at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Hornbeck and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 24 Nov 08 at 11:15 pm.
