On 5 Nov 08 Deputy Sheriff Anderson was dispatched to the scene of a structure fire at 427 Barnett Ridge Road, Belpre. The home, unoccupied but containing property, is owned by Clinton J. Fury, age 57, 307 Barnett Ridge Road. Mr. Fury said the house does not have running water or electricity and it appears to be a total loss. This case remains under investigation.

On 5 Nov 08 Patricia Rhodes, age 38, 425 County House Lane, Marietta, reported sometime after the first of this month an unknown suspect(s) entered her basement and stole all of the Stanley tools from a toolbox, a loss of $600. This case remains under investigation (610).

On 5 Nov 08 a sixteen year old Marietta resident reported his father slapped him in the mouth. The teenager’s father admitted slapping his son, saying the juvenile was being verbally abusive toward him. The father said he confronted his son about missing his curfew and that is son stays out late at night and consumes alcohol. Determining neither party feared for their safety and that no act of domestic violence occurred, Deputy Sheriff Anderson closed this case as unfounded.

On 5 Nov 08 Lt. Wilson issued a citation to Michael A. Trent, age 38, 27400 State Route 7 Lot 75, Marietta, for driving under a suspended license. Lt. Wilson stopped Mr. Trent at the intersection of North Hart and Pike streets in Marietta.

On 5 Nov 08 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio issued a minor misdemeanor citation to Heather D. Lang, age 33, 785 Bosner Ridge Road, Lowell, for disorderly conduct. That afternoon an employee at a daycare facility in Lowell reported Ms. Lang was at the business screaming at employees and refused to leave the property. Ms. Lang admitted using derogatory language toward one employee and stated she was upset that her daughter had a dirty diaper when she arrived to pick her up.

Scott M. Bazin, age 36, 6970 State Route 821 Apt. A, Whipple, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $1,201.20.

Timothy P. Charlton, age 27, Route 1 Box 75, Rockport, WV, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $3,311.60.

Brandon L. Hoffert, age 23, 108 Faye Avenue, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $2,976.40.

Brandon Hornbeck, age 18, 607 Misty Lane, Washington, WV, for violating the terms of his probation.

Brandon J. Robinette, age 24, 1204 County House Lane Apt. E, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $296.40.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Glen Phillip Hayward, age 37, 2101 Agriculture Street, New Orleans, LA, for domestic violence, assault and for criminal damaging, all misdemeanors. Hayward was arrested at the Best Western by Patrolman McCracken of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Nov 08 at 12:11 am.

Christopher M. Listermann, age 36, 7196 State Route 555, Cutler, for violating the terms of a protection order, a misdemeanor. Listermann was arrested at the Sheriff’s Office by Deputy Sheriff Spencer and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Nov 08 at 12:53 am.

Florence T. Underwood, age 38, 517 Florence Street, Belpre, for allowing a dog to remain at large, a misdemeanor. Underwood was arrested at her residence by Patrolman Stump of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Nov 08 at 2:05 pm.

Kenneth Allen Bay, age 20, 216 Cameron Avenue, Parkersburg, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Bay was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Stump of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Nov 08 at 2:24 pm.

Adam Mickle Barton, age 30, 9975 Honda Hills Road, Thornville, OH, for driving under a suspended license and for not stopping at a red light, both misdemeanors. Barton was arrested near milepost twenty-five on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Nov 08 at 8:47 pm.
