On 29 Oct 08 Donna S. Betts, age 75, 2289
Reeds Run Road, Whipple, reported her son removed a log splitter
from her property without permission on 20 Oct. Ms. Betts said
her son refused to return the item, valued at $2,000, and she
wished to pursue charges against him. Confirming Ms. Betts’ son
possessed the log splitter, Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio forwarded
this case to the Prosecutor’s Office for possible grand
jury action.
On 29 Oct 08 Ronald D. Mayle, age 46, 25 Southland
Cemetery Road, Cutler, reported sometime overnight an unknown
suspect(s) punctured and flattened all four of the tires on
his Ford Contour. This case remains under investigation (232).
On 29 Oct 08 Jerry Wilcox, age 68, 6777 State
Route 60, Lowell, reported a thirty foot boat trailer was stolen
from his property sometime between 4 Jul and 1 Sep. This case
remains under investigation (1090).
On 29 Oct 08 Lt. Wilson issued a citation
to Robert L. Cavanagh, age 50, 3463 Starling Drive, Bethel,
OH, for reckless operation and for not stopping at a red light.
Lt. Wilson was stopped at the red light on US 50 at Braun Road
when Mr. Cavanagh ran the red light and swerved his tractor-trailer
to avoid striking a vehicle in the intersection.
On 29 Oct 08 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio issued
a citation to Jared T. Heslop, age 32, 65 Sugar Run Road, Marietta,
for not wearing a seat belt. Deputy Travaglio originally stopped
Mr. Heslop for nearly striking a vehicle when he veered across
the centerline on Stanleyville Road near Caywood Road in Fearing
Township.
the Sheriff’s
Office received the following warrants:
Michael E. Hoffert, age 25, 161 Wells Avenue,
Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines in the sum of $1,123.90.
Anthony J. Wilson, age 32, 306 Colegate Drive, Marietta, for
failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines
in the sum of $1,002.30.
Katie A. Schulz, age 20, 26938 Kelsey Drive, Warren, MI, for
failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines
in the sum of $266.50.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Chad Joseph Padgett, age 33, 603 State Street, New Lexington,
OH, for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Padgett
was arrested on State Route 60 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Oct 08
at 2:23 am.
George Allen Lattea, age 44, 125 Dean Street, Marietta, for
OVI, for operating a vehicle with an expired license, for criminal
damaging and for having a defective exhaust, all misdemeanors.
Lattea was arrested on Colegate Drive by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29
Oct 08 at 4:38 am.
Dustin Blake Lolley, age 22, 740 Greene Street,
Newport, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on
unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Lolley was arrested at his residence
by Detective Rhodes of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29
Oct 08 at 3:10 pm.
Serena Fawn Biehl, age 31, 311 Chestnut Street, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Biehl was arrested in Marietta by Deputy
Sheriff S. Travaglio and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 29 Oct 08 at 9:38 pm.
Kevin Ray Plummer, age 50, 109 Persimmon Street, Brooksville,
KY, for speeding and for operating a vehicle with an expired
license, both misdemeanors. Plummer was arrested on State Route
7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 29 Oct 08 at 10:03 pm.
