On 15 Oct 08 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio issued
a citation to Jason D. McDonald, age 37, 1435 Coal Run Road,
Marietta, for operating a vehicle with license plates that
expired in September 2008. Deputy Travaglio stopped Mr. McDonald
at the intersection of State Route 7 and Sandhill Road in Marietta
Township.
On 15 Oct 08 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio issued
a citation to Russell D. Brooks Jr., age 21, 12787 State Route
676, Waterford, for operating a vehicle without a license.
Deputy Travaglio stopped Mr. Brooks at the intersection of
Second and Washington streets in Marietta at which time Mr.
Brooks said he only had a learner’s permit.
On 15 Oct 08 a thirty-three year old Little
Hocking resident reported she has been receiving harassing
phone calls from a family member. This case remains under investigation
(296).
On 15 Oct 08 a sixty-one year old Lowell resident
reported her twelve year old grandson and ten year old granddaughter
were fighting over a cell phone charger. She said her granddaughter
hit her brother with a broom and her grandson responded by
punching his sister several times. While she attempted to gain
control of the children the grandmother said her granddaughter
cussed at her and hit her with the broom. Consequently, Deputy
Sheriff Mankins requested summonses for both of the children
to appear in Juvenile Court on charges of delinquency by disorderly
conduct. The ten year old also faces a charge of delinquency
by domestic violence for striking her grandmother.
On 15 Oct 08 Debra Hopp, age 54, 130 Ferncliff
Drive, Marietta, reported while she and her husband were away
on their houseboat between 10 and 12 Oct an unknown suspect(s)
entered their home and stole four bottles of their prescription
medications. This case remains under investigation (296).
On 15 Oct 08 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio responded
to a residential fire at 600 Cats Creek Road, Lowell. A relative
of the home’s owner informed Deputy Travaglio the home
was unoccupied but the furnace was still on and the home still
had power. Fire personnel extinguished the fire which caused
substantial damage to one side of the home built around the
1870’s. Deemed accidental by fire personnel, the fire
appears to have started in the basement in the area of the
furnace.
On 15 Oct 08 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued
a citation to Danny R. Ritchey, age 47, 2266 Briggs Hill Road,
Belpre, for operating with an expired license and for operating
a vehicle with license plates that expired in March 2008. Deputy
Smeeks stopped Mr. Ritchey near milepost two on Briggs Hill
Road in Dunham Township.

Amanda M. Delong, age 22, 215 Oaklawn Avenue,
Woodsfield, for parking a vehicle with an expired registration
on 5 Feb 08.
Lincoln E. Echard, age 23, 29 State Route 124, Little Hocking,
for telecommunications harassment on 14 Aug 08.
Adam K. Goodnite, age 29, 451 White Road, Malta, for issuing
a bad check for $71.51 to IGA on 17 Jun 08.
Jennifer J. Goodnite, age 27, 451 White Road, Malta, for issuing
a bad check for $60.98 to IGA on 17 Jun 08.
Timothy E. Jarrell, age 46, 429 McGill Road, Vincent, for
an act of domestic violence committed on 20 Sep 08.
Tracy McElfresh, age 21, 66 Elm Street, Belpre, for failing
to appear for a probation violation hearing on 8 Oct 08.
Justin K. Tewkesbury, age 21, 521 Barclay Street Lot 15, Belpre,
for failing to appear for pretrial on 7 Oct 08.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Bobbie Sue Davis, age 24, 604 Lee Street Apt.
B, Belpre, for being a fugitive from justice and for a felony
charge of theft. Davis was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman
Williams of the Belpre City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 15 Oct 08 at 11:24 am.
Courtney Marie Dailey, age 23, 38313 State Route 7, Long Bottom,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Dailey was picked up in Athens County
by Deputy Sheriff Reeder and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 15 Oct 08 at 3:47 pm.
Thomas Michael Emerick, age 39, 206 Alderman Street, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Emerick
was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Hamilton and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 15 Oct 08 at 4:12
pm.
Steven Michael Barnhart, age 34, 10 Browns Road, Marietta,
for violating the terms of a protection order, a misdemeanor.
Barnhart turned himself in to Lt. Huffer at the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and was processed into the Washington
County Jail on 15 Oct 08 at 9:00 pm.
