On 7 Oct 08 an employee of Adkins Timber,
22180 State Route 60, Beverly, reported finding a blasting
cap in the company’s parking lot. Sgt. Underwood recovered
the item and marked it for disposal.
On 7 Oct 08 a mail carrier reported seeing
a burnt vehicle near the tree line on Big Run Road approximately
two miles west of State Route 550. The owner of the Honda Ridgeline
is unknown at the time. This case remains under investigation
(1090).
On 7 Oct 08 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio issued
a citation to Laurie B. Phan, age 26, 72 Briggs Hill Road,
Belpre, for driving under an FRA suspended license and for
having fictitious tags. Deputy Travaglio stopped Ms. Phan on
Fort Harmar Drive near Pearl Street in Marietta.
On 7 Oct 08 an employee in the Promanco/Influent
complex at 27823 State Route 7, Marietta, reported another
employee found drug paraphernalia in a restroom. This case
remains under investigation (712).
On 7 Oct 08 an employee of Bartlett Farmers
Bank, 2301 State Route 550, Bartlett, reported the bank has
received more than thirty phone calls from customers and non-customers
that believe they were targets of a scam. One of the victims
said he received a phone message stating there was a problem
with his ATM card and to enter the card number on his keypad.
The suspect on the other end of the line read the card number
back to the victim and then requested his PIN. It is believed
that the victims are chosen at random but that they live in
close proximity to the bank. The Sheriff’s Office advises
individuals to exercise diligence when receiving phone calls
such as this, to closely guard credit/ATM card information
and to not reveal personal identification numbers to random
callers.

Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines in the sum of $149.50.
Brian K. Bunting, age 52, 700 Washington Boulevard, Belpre,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines in the sum of $1,109.00.
Cody J. Cline, age 28, 938 Veto Road, Belpre, for failure
to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the
sum of $455.00.
Jason L. Criswell, age 31, 453 Ogden Road, Springfield, OH,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines in the sum of $721.50.
Brandon J. Lott, age 23, 2201 Meadowview Drive, Parkersburg,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines in the sum of $370.50.
Meredith C. Parr, age 35, 8800 State Route 821, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines in the sum of $526.50.
Richard J. Reynolds, age 35, 6518 Rhode Island Avenue, Hammond,
IN, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines in the sum of $325.00.
Daniel J. Shaffer, age 35, 63 Dunn Lane, New Matamoras, for
failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines
in the sum of $387.40.
The following individual
was processed into the Washington County Jail:
Tina Marie Blair, age 47, 1572 Elizabeth Street
Apt. B, Belpre, for a felony charge of violating the terms
of his probation and for a misdemeanor charge of theft. Blair
was arrested at Fruth Pharmacy by Patrolman Stump of the Belpre
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 7 Oct 08 at 10:15 pm.
