On 1 Oct 08 a fifty-eight year old Marietta
resident reported for the past year an unknown person has been
phoning her several times a day and hangs up the phone when
she answers. This case remains under investigation (792).
On 1 Oct 08 Diana Schmidt, age 57, 470 Schau
Road, Lowell, reported twenty-nine of her husband’s oxycodone
pills were stolen sometime since the prescription was filled
on 24 Sep. This case remains under investigation (945).
On 1 Oct 08 at 1:08 am Jerry Coleman, age
47, 12786 State Route 676, Waterford, reported his left ear
began bleeding after being punched by Christopher Ledger, age
18, 7010 State Route 550, Cutler. Mr. Coleman said Mr. Ledger
occasionally works for him and was at his home inquiring about
working later that morning. Ledger be came upset when Mr. Coleman
could not pay him $50 for working previously and punched Mr.
Coleman as he sat unaware on the couch. Located after being
forced from the home by Mr. Coleman’s girlfriend, Ledger
could not provide evidence for his claim of self defense. As
a result, Sgt. Stackpole requested a summons for Mr. Ledger
for assault.
On 1 Oct 08 at 3:24 am Christopher Ledger
phoned to report he was assaulted while staying at a friend’s
residence at 425 County House Lane, Marietta. Mr. Ledger refused
to write a statement but said he was asleep on a bedroom floor
when the home’s resident, William Richards, age 19, began
screaming at him. Mr. Ledger stated the shouted escalated and
Richards punched him several times in the head and face before
he was able to flee the home. In an almost fitting conclusion
to his earlier attack, Ledger suffered an injury to his ear
as well as other swelling to his face. Richards denied any
involvement in the case but exhibited swelling and bruising
on the knuckles of his right hand. Consequently, Deputy Sheriff
Thorpe arrested Mr. Richards for assault and transported him
to the Washington County Jail.
On 1 Oct 08 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued
a citation to Andrew A. Huck, age 30, 10 Kern Drive, Marietta,
for operating a vehicle with an expired driver’s license.
Deputy Mankins stopped Mr. Huck at the intersection of Second
and Washington streets in Marietta.
On 1 Oct 08 James R. Ritchey, age 44, 115
Forshey Road, Marietta, reported a 2000 model year Yamaha ATV
was stolen from his property sometime during the past two weeks.
This case remains under investigation (592).
On 1 Oct 08 Deputy Sheriff Mankins requested
a summons for a fourteen year old Fleming resident to appear
in Juvenile Court for being unruly. Upset and not willing to
follow house rules when he arrived home from school that afternoon,
the teenager knocked a lamp off a table and left the home.
The juvenile was located at a friend’s house three hours
later and returned to his residence.
On 1 Oct 08 Paul E. Stock Jr., age 40, 256
Front Drive, New Matamoras, reported at some point during the
past day an unknown suspect(s) stole four used tires and rims
from his yard. This case remains under investigation (1184).
On 1 Oct 08 the owner of Sandhill Mini Storage,
which is locate a mile from the red light on State Route 7,
reported the padlocks were cut off five or six storage units.
It is unknown at this time if any property was stolen. This
case remains under investigation (1184).
On 1 Oct 08 Keith A. Francis, age 52, 11A
Milltown Road, Newport, reported he believes his daughter,
who lives in the residence upstairs, was assaulted by her live-in
partner. An investigation by Deputy Sheriff Simmons revealed
the two were only involved in a heated argument and no act
of domestic violence occurred.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
William David Richards, age 19, 425 County House Lane, Marietta,
for assault, a misdemeanor. Richards was arrested on Fourth
Street by Lt. Wilson of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Oct
08 at 6:45 am.
Michael Andrew Hudson, age 20, 277 Water Street, Lowell, for
disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Hudson was
arrested on Fourth Street by Lt. Wilson of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 1 Oct 08 at 6:55 am.
Floyd Jordan Jr., age 37, 2429 Dunkirk Drive,
Columbus, for violating the terms of his parole, a felony.
Jordan was arrested at Southgate Trailer Park by Sgt. Underwood
of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 1 Oct 08 at 2:40 pm.
Dustin Lee Brooks, age 21, 1358 Masonic Park Road, Marietta,
for a felony charge of kidnapping and for misdemeanor charges
of driving under an FRA suspended license and failure to appear
at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines. Brooks turned himself
in to Deputy Sheriff Mankins and was processed into the Washington
County Jail on 1 Oct 08 at 3:20 pm.
Laurie Beth Phan, age 26, 72 Briggs Hill Road, Belpre, for
failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines
and for failure to appear, both misdemeanors. Phan was arrested
on State Route 550 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 1 Oct 08 at 5:24 pm.
David Wayne Mosley, age 45, 2100 Sullivant Avenue, Columbus,
for violating the terms of his parole, for carrying a concealed
weapon and for having a weapon while under disability, all
felonies. Mosley was arrested at Kmart by Patrolman Warden
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 1 Oct 08 at 5:43 pm.
Robert Duane Hamilton, age 35, 704 Elm Street Apt. 2, Belpre,
for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. Hamilton was arrested
at his residence by Patrolman Stump of the Belpre City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
1 Oct 08 at 8:40 pm.
