On 29 Sep 08 Jack Wagner, age 76, 284 Cats
Creek Road, Lowell, reported while he was on vacation between
4 Sep and 20 Sep an unknown suspect(s) stole a cordless drill,
a gas engine, bags of aluminum cans, scrap metal and a socket
set from various locations on his property. This case remains
under investigation (610).
On 29 Sep 08 the owner of the Fox Den, 40
McGrath Road, Macksburg, reported an unknown suspect entered
the bar during the night and attempted to pry open a game system
to remove the coins. At this time no property appears missing.

On 29 Sep 08 Heather D. Schmidt, age 29, 220
Reed Road, Marietta, reported she found an empty beer bottle
in the mailbox when checked her mail that evening. A neighbor
of Ms. Schmidt said find debris in their mailboxes is a frequent
occurrence and sometimes mail is taken as well. This case remains
under investigation (1097).
On 29 Sep 08 Todd Molessa, age 38, Route 1
Box 29AA, Pullman, WV, reported he and his father were repairing
things on his property on Falls Run Road in Cutler when a neighbor
approached on an ATV and angrily confronted him about posting “no
hunting” and “no trespassing” signs along
his property. Mr. Molessa said he was not harmed during the
incident but that the neighbor was so agitated that he feared
for his and his father’s safety. This case remains under
investigation (805).
SUSPECT WANTED FOR KIDNAPPING; VICTIM RETURNED
On 26 Sep 08 Deputy Sheriff Lockart was dispatched to 1358
Masonic Park Road, Marietta, Ohio in response to the report
of an abducted four month old boy. The child’s mother,
Stacey Duskey, said she was in a verbal argument with her live-in
boyfriend, Dustin L. Brooks, age 21, during which time he told
her that he was going to take her son and she would never see
him again. Ms. Duskey attempted to phone for help but Mr. Brooks
refused to let allow her use the phone by locking himself and
the child in another room. In fear for her son’s safety,
Ms. Duskey fled the home to use a phone nearby. While using
the phone Mr. Brooks left the residence, taking the victim
with him. Ms. Duskey stated that Mr. Brooks is not the father
of her son and that she has only been dating Mr. Brooks for
a few months. A relative of Mr. Brooks later returned the child
safely to his mother. Unable to locate the suspect during the
incident, Deputy Lockhart requested a warrant for Mr. Brooks
for kidnapping.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Billie Grant Hogue Jr., age 41, 1045 Sandhill Road Lot 14,
Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Hogue was arrested
at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Norman and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 29 Sep 08 at 12:55 am.
George Edward Thomas III, age 34, 241 Muskingum Drive, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Thomas turned himself in to Patrolman
Blasko of the Marietta City Police Department and was processed
into the Washington County Jail on 29 Sep 08 at 6:40 am.
Larry Eugene Emerick, age 52, 110 Grandview
Avenue, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication and
for violating the terms of his probation, both misdemeanors.
Emerick was arrested on Greene Street by Patrolman Caldwell
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 29 Sep 08 at 6:20 pm.
