On 23 Sep 08 the Washington County dog warden
reported unknown suspect(s) gained entry into the vacant county
highway garage at 1401 Colegate Drive, Marietta. Currently
utilized by his office and County Weights and Measures, the
dog warden said he noticed the lock was missing from the front
gate and that the building itself was forcibly entered. Though
the suspect(s) were able to enter the building, no property
appears missing. This case remains under investigation (684).
On 23 Sep 08 Robert L. Hooper II, age 56,
175 Goose Run Road, Marietta, reported a Remington model 12
rifle and a Remington model 514 rifle were stolen from his
mother’s residence at 665 Tadpole Run Road, Belpre, sometime
during the past seven months. This case remains under investigation
(805).
On 23 Sep 08 the principal of Barlow-Vincent
Elementary School reported a nine year old student bit her
twice in the arm. Refusing to attend class, the Little Hocking
resident began screaming, destroying papers and books and kicking
furniture. The principal said she placed the juvenile in a
non-violent crisis intervention hold when the student bit and
kicked her. Staff members arrived to assist the principal and
the juvenile finally calmed. As a result of the incident, Sgt.
Brockmeier requested a summons for the juvenile to appear in
Juvenile Court on a charge of delinquency by assault.
On 23 Sep 08 the Beverly Volunteer Fire Department
extinguished a structure fire at 20330 State Route 60, Beverly.
The fourteen foot by sixteen foot storage building, owned by
Rocky Huck, was apparently ignited by a trash barrel being
burned nearby. Though the fire does not appear to be suspicious,
Sgt. Brockmeier forwarded this case to the State Fire Marshal’s
Office for further investigation.
the Sheriff’s
Office received the following warrants:
Renee A. Donahue, age 19, 1114 Thomas Street,
Parkersburg, for violating the terms of her probation by failing
to make regular fine payments as ordered by the court.
Charlie T. Griffith, age 52, 8 Sixth Street, Belpre, for violating
the terms of his probation by failing to pay fines in full
or to appear to serve fifteen days in jail.
David J. Martin, age 50, 810 Warren Avenue, Belpre, for violating
the terms of his probation by failing to complete eighty hours
of community service.
Donna M. Neighbors, age 37, PO Box 737, New Matamoras, for
violating the terms of her probation by failing to maintain
a monthly fine payment plan.
The following
individual wAS processed into the Washington County Jail:
Christopher Michael Ball, age 23, 3494 State
Route 59, Ravenna, OH, for violating the terms of his probation,
a misdemeanor. Ball was picked up in Portage County by Deputy
Sheriff Reeder and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 23 Sep 08 at 2:43 pm.
