On 13 Sep 08 Deputy Sheriff Thorpe issued a citation to Justin M. Devaughn, age 26, 540 Lang Farm Road, Marietta, for driving under a suspended license. Deputy Thorpe stopped Mr. Devaughn on State Route 339 near Bramblewood Heights Road in Warren Township.

On 13 Sep 08 the Newport Fire Department transported Lonnie D. Dalrymple Jr., age 23, 1308 Williamson Avenue Apt. 1E, New Matamoras, to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to injuries caused by a pit bull. Witnesses reported Mr. Dalrymple was involved in a fight and knocked to the ground when he was attacked by the dog. Not willing to provide a written statement to pursue charges, Mr. Dalrymple was transported to Grant Medical Center for surgery to his severely damaged ear (1293).

On 13 Sep 08 Deputy Sheriff Thorpe issued a citation to Erik J. Koffel, age 21, 4300 State Route 676, Stockport, for driving under a suspended license. Deputy Thorpe stopped Mr. Koffel on State Route 339 near Oxbow Road in Belpre Township.

On 13 Sep 08 a forty-three year old Macksburg resident reported for the past week an unknown male has been phoning him in the middle of the night and threatening him. This case remains under investigation (610).

On 13 Sep 08 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes arrested Alex M. Wynstra Jr., age 22, 121 State Route 550, Cutler, for OVI and for driving left of center. Stopped on State Route 555 after he crossed the centerline and nearly struck Deputy Rhodes, Mr. Wynstra had a strong odor of alcohol. Following his poor performance on field sobriety tests Mr. Wynstra was transported to the Washington County Jail where he tested .149 BAC.

On 13 Sep 08 a seventeen year old New Matamoras resident reported she may have suffered a broken nose when the father of her unborn child head butted her. The victim said Lionel J. Gore, age 21, 130 Cemetery Drive, New Matamoras, argued with her briefly prior to head butting her and felt no remorse over the incident. Though Mr. Gore denied harming the victim, Deputy Sheriff Anderson requested a warrant for him for assault.

On 13 Sep 08 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio arrested Joseph A. Bailey, age 45, Marietta, for failure to reinstate his operator’s license. Deputy Travaglio observed Mr. Bailey driving on Cornerville Road then abruptly pulled into a driveway and switch seats with his passenger. Shortly thereafter the current driver, April D. Collins, age 41, 407 ½ Montgomery Street, Marietta, failed to signal when turning onto Sandhill Road. At that point Deputy Travaglio conducted a traffic stop and determined Mr. Bailey was driving illegally.

On 13 Sep 08 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes responded to a home on Mayle Ridge Road in Cutler where a forty-four year old male attempted suicide by ingesting an overdose of over the counter sleeping pills. Transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital, the victim was treated and released.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

James Preston Kilkenny, age 28, 4519 54th Street, Vienna, for contempt, a misdemeanor. Kilkenny was arrested at the Station Carryout by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Sep 08 at 1:09 am.

Marty Lewan Bass, age 39, 702 Franklin Avenue, Belpre, for felony charges of possession of drugs and escape and for misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest and contempt. Bass was arrested on Greene Street by Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Sep 08 at 1:58 am.

Penny Lou Jones, age 53, 76 Hazelwood Road, Marietta, for OVI, for failure to reinstate her operator’s license and for traveling left of center, all misdemeanors. Jones was arrested on Greene Street by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Sep 08 at 2:33 am.

Jeremy Jay Kesselring, age 31, 129 Muskingum Drive, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Kesselring was arrested at his residence by Patrolman McCracken of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Sep 08 at 4:29 am.

Alex Michael Wynstra Jr., age 22, 121 State Route 550, Cutler, for OVI and for driving left of center, both misdemeanors. Wynstra was arrested in Bartlett by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Sep 08 at 4:40 am.

Andrew Bryant Tucker, age 25, 712 Clement Avenue, Belpre, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Tucker was arrested on State Route 7 by Deputy Sheriff Thorpe and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Sep 08 at 11:40 am.

Joseph Allen Bailey, age 45, 10260 State Route 550, Vincent, for failure to reinstate his operator’s license, a misdemeanor. Bailey was arrested on Sandhill Road by Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Sep 08 at 6:50 pm.
