On 5 Sep 08 Deputy Sheriff Anderson arrested
James L. Carney Jr., age 55, 211 ½ Second Street, Beverly,
for domestic violence. Mr. Carney’s live-in girlfriend
Teryl Work, age 51, reported she and Mr. Carney each drank
about twelve beers at Quimby’s bar that evening and argued
outside after leaving the bar. Ms. Work said Mr. Carney pushed
her by the face into a wall, causing her to split her lip.
On 5 Sep 08 a 911 caller reported a female
residing at 401 Third Street, Macksburg, was bleeding from
the arm after being involved in an altercation with her husband.
Interviewing the alleged perpetrator and victim, Deputy Sheriff
Lockhart determined no threat or act of violence took place.
The victim did reveal abrasions on her arm that were scabbed
over from a prior ATV accident and said she exaggerated to
a relative the severity of a marital argument. Therefore Deputy
Lockhart closed this case as unfounded.
On 5 Sep 08 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued
a citation to Benjamin D. Cunningham, age 24, 125 Haysville
Road, Waterford, for not wearing a seat belt. Deputy Mankins
originally stopped Mr. Cunningham for having an expired registration
on State Route 339 near Hickory Lane in Waterford Township.
On 5 Sep 08 a passerby reported witnessing
two males attempting to enter the window of a vacant home at
2538 Federal Road, Little Hocking. The witness reversed direction
to obtain a license plate number, at which time the two suspects
fled in a minivan at high rate of speed. This case remains
under investigation (610).
On 5 Sep 08 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued
a citation to Tyler M. Stevens, age 28, 801 Park Street, Beverly,
for not wearing a seat belt. Deputy Mankins originally stopped
Mr. Stevens for speeding on State Route 339 near milepost nine
in Barlow Township.
On 5 Sep 08 John Singer, age 75, 825 Dixon
Road, Cutler, reported sometime this year an unknown suspect(s)
cut down a total of ten poplar and white oak trees from his
property on Norris Cemetery Road. Mr. Singer later phoned to
say he contacted the responsible party and he declined to pursue
the matter further (586).
On 5 Sep 08 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued a
citation to John D. Gibson, age 28, 19990 Sand Rock Road, Stewart,
for not wearing a seat belt. Deputy Smeeks originally stopped
Mr. Gibson for not using a turn signal on State Route 7 near
Tower Road in Belpre Township.
On 5 Sep 08 a forty-four year old Belpre resident
reported her sixteen year old son was upset that she was making
him go to work and flew into a rage. During the incident the
juvenile hit his mother in the stomach with a plate, broke
a kitchen chair and overturned the kitchen table. At one point
during his tirade the fifteen year old attacked his brother,
knocked his mother over in the process, and broke the window
to their home’s front door. For the safety of the family,
Deputy Smeeks arrested the juvenile on a charge of delinquency
by domestic violence and transported him to the Washington
County Juvenile Center.

Stephen Michael Partin, age 18, 313 Franklin Street, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Partin
was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 5 Sep 08 at 12:50 am.

processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Sep 08 at 2:40
am.
Katie Danielle Cline, age 20, 27400 State
Route 7 Lot 63, Reno, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor.
Cline was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Simmons
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Sep 08 at
2:00 pm.
William Earl Davis, age 53, 2113 McClure Avenue, Youngstown,
for breach of recognizance and for possession of drugs, both
felonies. Davis was picked up in Mahoning County by Deputy
Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 5 Sep 08 at 2:20 pm.
Justin Lee Rexroad, age 25, 103 Muskingum Terrace Apt. E,
Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Rexroad was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Brockmeier
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Sep 08 at
3:30 pm.
Roger Lee Duke II, age 30, 100 Simpson Street, Marietta, for
failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Duke turned himself in to
Deputy Sheriff Norman and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 5 Sep 08 at 7:50 pm.
Travis Eugene McPherson, age 20, 408 Porter Drive, Parkersburg,
for operating with an expired license, a misdemeanor. McPherson
was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Sep 08 at
8:45 pm.
