On 4 Sep 08 Glenna M. Wriston, age 28, 687 Wynncrest Drive, Marietta, reported being assaulted by her husband David, age 24. Involved in a brief argument over his wife’s affair with his brother, Mr. Wriston grabbed his wife by the face and threw her to the floor. Mrs. Wriston suffered only a small scratch but said she was in fear for her safety during the incident. As a result, Deputy Sheriff Rhodes arrested Mr. Wriston for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 4 Sep 08 Lt. Wilson and Deputy Sheriff Thorpe responded to a disturbance at 2110 Wynncrest Drive, Marietta. Arriving home to find her live-in boyfriend Ryan Dick, age 36, engaging in cyber sex with a female over the internet for the third time, Susan King, age 48, flew into a fit of rage. Ms. King began throwing items, breaking the computer tower, monitor and shattering the television screen. Determining the incident was not an act of domestic violence, Deputy Thorpe issued Ms. King a citation for disorderly conduct.

On 4 Sep 08 Mark J. Tilton, age 39, 12622 State Route 60, Lowell, reported being hit in the face by a family member. Speaking to the involved parties, the Deputies received conflicting stories about the incident. Therefore Deputy Sheriff Norman forwarded this case to the Law Director’s Office for further review.

On 4 Sep 08 Deputy Sheriff Anderson arrested a seventeen year old female in Waterford for being a delinquent runaway. Reported missing from her residence in New Mexico at the end of July, the teenager said she fled the southwest for her mother’s residence on Wells Road. The teenager’s aunt and uncle, who have custody of the young woman, are in the process of traveling to Ohio to pick up the girl.

On 4 Sep 08 an employee of Turner’s One Stop, 18990 State Route 339, Waterford, reported the driver of a maroon Buick drove off without paying for $42 in gasoline. Unable to obtain a description of the suspect or an accurate license plate number, Deputy Sheriff Smeeks could not investigate further and closed this case.

On 4 Sep 08 an employee of Barth Farms reported when he arrived at a field at the intersection of Jett Hill Road and Millers Lane to rake hay he discovered a Honda Fourtrax ATV. Checking the vehicle identification number, Deputy Sheriff Simmons was unable to determine the ATV’s owner. This case remains under investigation.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Nicholas Justin Adams, age 18, Walnut Drive, Whipple, for OVI, criminal damaging, for consuming alcohol in a vehicle and for failure to obey a traffic control device, all misdemeanors. Adams was arrested at the intersection of Second and Washington streets by Deputy Sheriff Norman and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Sep 08 at 12:11 am.

David Wayne Wriston, age 24, 687 Wynncrest Drive, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Wriston was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Sep 08 at 4:04 am.

Richard Dean Bailey, age 52, 10260 State Route 550, Vincent, for being in possession of an open container of alcohol and for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, both misdemeanors. Bailey was arrested on the west side of Marietta by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Sep 08 at 8:01 pm.

Brian Joseph Taggart, age 39, 806 Warren Avenue, Belpre, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Taggart was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Augenstein of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Sep 08 at 9:50 pm.
