On 3 Sep 08 Deputy Sheriffs Norman and Simmons
responded to a report of an intoxicated male yelling and brandishing
knives at 6874 State Route 821, Whipple. Upon their arrival
Deputy Norman observed Dennis M. Stacy, age 39, in the yard
with a knife in his hand and several other knives in his waistband.
Ignoring orders to lie on the ground, Mr. Stacy threw a knife
to the ground and ran to the edge of his yard. There he complied
with Deputy Norman’s order and the four other knives
in his possession were confiscated. The Deputies determined
Mr. Stacy returned from fishing intoxicated and argued with
his live-in girlfriend Elizabeth Dysert, age 26. Ms. Dysert
said Stacy pushed her against a wall, threw his shoulder into
her chest and began to gather knives as he threatened to kill
himself. After receiving treatment for a self inflicted wound
to his arm, Mr. Stacy was arrested for domestic violence, obstructing
official business and carrying a concealed weapon and transported
to the Washington County Jail.
On 3 Sep 08 Michael E. Slack, age 25, 129
Rauch Drive, Marietta, reported being involved in a heated
argument with his wife over her alleged extramarital affair.
Determining that no threat or physical violence occurred, Lt.
Wilson closed this case as unfounded.
On 3 Sep 08 Dolly S. Clark, age 69, 300 Broad
Street, Macksburg, reported she believes a family member has
stolen a large sum of cash from her home sometime during the
past month. This case remains under investigation (1183, 1184).
On 3 Sep 08 Darrell M. Sutton, age 64, 276
BF Goodrich Road, Marietta, reported sometime last month he
believes the tenant of his property at 15 Duck Creek Road,
Whipple, stole a vehicle tune up kit, scrap aluminum and copper,
an air pistol, a chainsaw, a miter saw and a plow from a storage
garage on the property. This case remains under investigation
(1184).
On 3 Sep 08 an employee of the Pit Stop, 3355
State Route 821, Marietta, reported a suspect he recognized
as Nicholas J. Adams, age 18, Walnut Drive, Whipple, tore a
divider off the wall of the business’ bathroom. Later
in the evening Deputy Sheriff Norman conducted a traffic stop
in Marietta after the vehicle’s driver, later identified
as Mr. Adams, failed to stop at the intersection of Sacra Via
and Second Street. Mr. Adams had a strong odor of alcohol and
admitted drinking beer as drove around with his friend Austin
W. Wright, age 18, 209 Second Street, Lower Salem. Furthermore,
Mr. Adams admitted damaging the bathroom stall at the Pit Stop
because he was having a bad day. Making his day even worse,
Deputy Sheriff Norman arrested Mr. Adams for criminal damaging,
consuming alcohol in a vehicle and OVI. When transported to
the Washington County Jail Mr. Adams tested .097 BAC. Mr. Wright
was arrested as well on charges of consuming alcohol in a vehicle
and for underage consumption. He admitted consuming beer in
the vehicle along with Mr. Adams.
On 3 Sep 08 Kelly R. Tekavec, age 30, 200
Eldorado Drive, Marietta, was in the turn lane from northbound
State Route 7 about to turn onto Sandhill Road when her Ford
Edge was sideswiped by a Toyota Corolla driven by Carol E.
Hill, age 58, 205 Maple Street, Newport. Both vehicles sustained
non-functional damage; no injuries were reported (232).
On 3 Sep 08 the owner of Gutter Pro Inc.,
855 Beebe Road, Waterford, reported at some point during the
past week five rolls of aluminum, valued over $1,000, used
for his business were stolen from a garage on his property.
This case remains under investigation (586).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Daryl Robert Gus, age 20, 709 Mountain View
Drive, Beckley, WV, for driving under a suspended license and
for speeding, both misdemeanors. Gus was arrested on Interstate
77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 3 Sep 08 at 5:25 am.
James Dennis Rhodes, age 32, 207 Montgomery
Street, Marietta, for domestic violence and for violating the
terms of his probation, both misdemeanors. Rhodes was arrested
at 700 Colegate Drive by Patrolman Warden of the Marietta City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 3 Sep 08 at 11:05 am.
Dennis Matthew Stacy, age 39, 6874 State Route 821, Whipple,
for a felony charge of domestic violence and for misdemeanor
charges of obstructing official business and carrying a concealed
weapon. Stacy was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff
Simmons and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3
Sep 08 at 3:35 pm.
April Dawn Spears, age 28, 45 Fourth Street, The Plains, for
fishing without a license, a misdemeanor. Spears was picked
up in Athens County by Officer Stone of the Ohio Department
of Natural Resources and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 3 Sep 08 at 5:56 pm.
Austin William Wright, age 18, 209 Second Street, Lower Salem,
for underage consumption of alcohol, for consuming alcohol
in a vehicle and for violating the terms of his probation,
all misdemeanors. Wright was arrested at the intersection of
Second and Washington streets by Lt. Wilson of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 3 Sep 08 at 10:18 pm.
