On 31 Aug 08 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio issued a citation to Barry N. Allen, age 52, 26780 State Route 7, Marietta, for not wearing a seat belt. Deputy Travaglio stopped Mr. Allen for improperly displayed license plates on State Route 7 near Sanjubar Road in Marietta Township.

On 31 Aug 08 Deputy Sheriff K. Travaglio issued a citation to William K. Hedrick, age 60, 122 Tennis Center Drive Apt. 40, Marietta, for not wearing a seat belt. Deputy Travaglio stopped Mr. Hedrick on State Route 7 near Sandhill Road in Marietta Township.

On 31 Aug 08 an employee of the Pit Stop, 3355 State Route 821, Marietta, reported the driver of a blue Chevy S-10 sped off without paying for $20.25 in gasoline. This case remains under investigation (610).

On 31 Aug 08 Deputy Sheriff K. Travaglio issued citations to Nicholas W. Murphy, age 22, 1195 Cornerville Road, Marietta, and James D. O’Connell, age 22, 60, 122 Tennis Center Drive Apt. 40, Marietta, for not wearing seat belts. Deputy Travaglio stopped Mr. Murphy and his passenger Mr. O’Connell for having an inoperable license plate light on State Route 7 near Products Lane in Marietta Township.

On 31 Aug 08 Deputy Sheriff Thorpe requested a summons for a sixteen year old Marietta resident to appear in Juvenile Court on a charge of delinquency by assault. Witnesses at the fair reported seeing the suspect sucker punch a thirteen year old Marietta resident. When interviewed, the suspect confessed to punching the victim because the victim told on him for throwing water balloons during the fair.

On 31 Aug 08 Robert D. Wilson, age 55, 5026 Riley Road, Johnstown, OH, reported at some point during the last month an unknown suspects entered his cabin at 130 Luke Chute Road, Waterford, cut out the copper piping and stole three boat motors, various tools and fishing tackle. This case remains under investigation (1106).

On 31 Aug 08 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio arrested Tereza R. Sedgwick, age 24, and Carl W. Wogan, age 26, both of 205 ½ Washington Boulevard, Belpre, for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Wogan was operating a vehicle with a cracked windshield and failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Orchard and Tower roads. Asked why a canine indicated the presence of drugs in his vehicle, Wogan revealed an Altoids tin he had Sedgwick place in her purse that contained marijuana and a marijuana pipe.

On 31 Aug 08 a Washington County Fair Board member reported seeing the driver of a dark colored truck doing donuts in the grassy parking lot near the horse barns. Unable to obtain a license plate number or a description of the suspect, Deputy Sheriff Day closed this case.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Shane Michael Hardie, age 32, 708 Front Street Apt. 19, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Hardie was arrested on Front Street by Patrolman Thomas of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Aug 08 at 12:45 am.

Joseph James Patterson, age 47, 112 Maple Street Apt. 1, Marietta, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Patterson was arrested in Belpre Township by Officer Stone of the Department of Natural Resources and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Aug 08 at 3:00 pm.

Tereza Regina Sedgwick, age 24, 205 ½ Washington Boulevard Apt. B, Belpre, for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors. Sedgwick was arrested on US 50 near Tower Road by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Aug 08 at 5:00 pm.

Carl Wayne Wogan, age 26, 205 ½ Washington Boulevard, Belpre, for possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and for failure to obey a traffic control device, all misdemeanors. Wogan was arrested on US 50 near Tower Road by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Aug 08 at 5:10 pm.

Velma Joan Allen, age 37, 4117 Dixon Ridge Road, Lowell, for .08 breath OVI, a misdemeanor. Allen was arrested near milepost seven on State Route 821 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Aug 08 at 11:05 pm.
