On 23 Aug 08 Deputy Sheriff Carr issued a
citation to Brenda J. Boone, age 50, 645 Stevens Road, Waterford,
for traveling 66 mph in a 55 mph zone and for operating with
an expired license. Deputy Carr stopped Ms. Boone on State
Route 339 near milepost eleven in Barlow Township.
On 23 Aug 08 Deputy Sheriff Lockhart was
on patrol when he found Patrick J. Cavanagh, age 49, 450 Lakeview
Drive, Vincent, passed out in the parking lot of the Lawnsdale,
lying near the ice machine. Intoxicated and saying he had nowhere
to go and no one to call, Mr. Cavanagh was arrested for disorderly
conduct by intoxication and transported him to the Washington
County Jail.
On 23 Aug 08 Deputy Sheriff Carr issued a
citation to Jane A. Skeen, age 41, 112 Hillcrest Drive, Marietta,
for traveling 67 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Carr stopped
Ms. Skeen on State Route 7 near State Route 550 in Marietta
Township.
On 23 Aug 08 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio conducted
a traffic stop on a vehicle with a handwritten sign in the
rear window instead of a license plate. Visibly nervous, the
driver, William Gonzalez, age 42, 314 Dempsey Avenue, Parkersburg,
said he lost the license plate and wasn’t even sure if
he wrote the number correctly. Further investigation revealed
the vehicle was reported stolen from Wood County, WV and there
was an active warrant for Gonzalez for grand theft. Also charged
with receiving stolen property, Gonzalez was transported to
the Washington County Jail. Gonzalez’s passenger, Terra
E. Parrish, age 28, Marietta, was arrested as well, charged
with consuming alcohol in a vehicle. She admitting consuming
beer in the vehicle after Deputy Travaglio questioned her regarding
an open beer can.
On 23 Aug 08 Mike Dye, age 53, 518 Front Street,
New Matamoras, reported he was sitting on his porch when his
neighbor John Peterson Jr., age 41, 517 Front Street, angrily
approached him. Mr. Dye said Mr. Peterson, who appeared to
have a knife in his hand, cursed at him and stated he could
stab him or that he had guns at his house he could use. Citing
that Mr. Dye feared for his safety, Deputy Sheriff Norman requested
a warrant for Mr. Peterson. Peter was arrested at his residence
hours later and transported to the Washington County Jail.
On 23 Aug 08 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio stopped
the driver of a vehicle for committing several traffic violations
on State Route 60 near State Route 339. Learning the driver,
Thomas W. Hemsath, age 35, 285 Righteous Ridge Road, Vincent,
had a suspended license, Deputy Travaglio took Mr. Hemsath
into custody. Following Hemsath’s arrest Deputy Travaglio
searched his vehicle and discovered a pipe containing burnt
marijuana. Also charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia,
Hemsath admitted the pipe belonged to him.
On 23 Aug 08 Virginia VanDine, age 25, 2524
Oxbow Road, Belpre, reported sometime since 12 Aug an unknown
suspect(s) entered her residence and stole over 100 DVD’s,
a Playstation 2 and a dozen games, various rings, earrings
and numerous CD’s. This case remains under investigation
(610).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Patrick James Cavanagh, age 49, 450 Lakeview Drive, Vincent,
for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Cavanagh
was arrested at the Lawnsdale by Deputy Sheriff Lockhart and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Aug 08 at 5:50
am.
Thomas Wayne Hemsath, age 35, 285 Righteous Ridge Road, Waterford,
for driving under an FRA suspended license, possession of drugs,
possession of drug paraphernalia and for failure to signal,
all misdemeanors. Hemsath was arrested on State Route 60 by
Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 23 Aug 08 at 1:53 pm.
Randolph D. Garland III, age 43, 553 Blue Knob Road, Marietta,
for failure to reinstate his operator’s license, a misdemeanor.
Garland was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23
Aug 08 at 3:35 pm.
Nancy Darlene Walker, age 50, 2836 Sealy Ridge Road, Vincent,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Walker was arrested at his residence
by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 23 Aug 08 at 5:13 pm.
John Jessie Peterson Jr., age 41, 517 Front Street, New Matamoras,
for aggravated menacing, a misdemeanor. Peterson was arrested
at his residence by Deputy Sheriff K. Travaglio and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 23 Aug 08 at 8:45 pm.
Daniel Hendrickson Sr., age 54, 775 Gravel Bank Road, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, for disorderly conduct by intoxication and for being
in possession of an open container of alcohol, all misdemeanors.
Hendrickson was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff
Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Aug
08 at 9:32 pm.
Dennis Ray Oakley, age 27, 101 Franklin Street Apt. 2, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Oakley was arrested on Gilman Avenue
by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Aug 08
at 9:45 pm.
Terra Elizabeth Parrish, age 28, Marietta, for consuming alcohol
in a vehicle, a misdemeanor. Parrish was arrested on Hart Street
by Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 23 Aug 08 at 9:45 pm.
Melissa Jo Taylor, age 36, 731 Center Street, Beverly, for
domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Taylor was arrested at her
residence by Patrolman Oliver of the Beverly Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Aug 08
at 10:00 pm.
Andrew Charles Leonard, age 37m, 445 Lakeview Drive, Vincent,
for driving under an OVI suspended license, possession of drugs,
possession of drug paraphernalia and for violating the terms
of his probation, all misdemeanors. Leonard was arrested on
State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 23 Aug 08 at 10:14 pm.
William Gonzalez, age 42, 314 Dempsey Avenue, Parkersburg,
for felony charges of receiving stolen property and being a
fugitive from justice and for a misdemeanor charge of not having
license plates. Gonzalez was arrested on Pike Street by Deputy
Sheriff S. Travaglio and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 23 Aug 08 at 10:57 pm.
