On 20 Aug 08 Derek Thompson, age 18, 810 Best Hollow Road, Whipple, reported he believes two of his friends stole a Tissot watch, a Sony digital camera and a digital media player when they visited him at his home on 14 Aug. This case remains under investigation (1090).

FARM WORKER ATTACKED WITH KNIFE, JUVENILE ARRESTED

At approximately 11:20 pm Lt. Canavan and Deputy Sheriffs Lockhart and Malone responded to 4525 Sparling Road in Waterford after receiving a report that an employee who lived on the property had been attacked with a knife. When the deputies arrived members of the Beverly-Waterford Fire Department were treating Fernando Perez, age 46, for cuts sustained near his jugular vein on his neck and to his thumb. A witness at the scene stated another farm employee, later identified as a sixteen year old Mexican national, lived in the cottage with the with the victim and was the one who attacked Mr. Perez. Lt. Canavan located the sixteen year old suspect nearby, at which time the teenager provided a green card indicating he was twenty years old. Contacting Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Columbus, Deputy Malone learned the identification provided by the juvenile was false or fake.

Interviewed at Camden Clark Hospital after receiving ten stitches to his neck and seven stitches to his thumb, Mr. Perez said he did not provoke the suspect at all and was asleep when the knife attack began.

The juvenile was arrested on charges of delinquency by committing attempted murder and falsification and is currently incarcerated in the Washington County Juvenile Detention Center.

Richard D. Bailey, age 52, 10260 State Route 550, Vincent, for being in possession of an open container of alcohol on 5 Aug 08.

Marty L. Bass, age 39, 702 Franklin Avenue, Belpre, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $1,529.90.

Daniel E. Hendrickson Sr., age 54, 775 Gravel Bank Road, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication on 6 Aug 08.

Donald E. Hill, age 64, 217 Bridge Street Apt. 4B, Caldwell, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $572.

Ryan D. McFann, age 23, 105 State Route 555 Apt. 5, Little Hocking, for failing to appear for a probation violation hearing on 13 Aug 08.

Chico M. Mason, age 33, 16 Browns Lane, Newport, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $1,088.10.

Charles F. Simmons, age 24, 19441 Circle Drive, Guysville, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $1,554.80.

Aric W. Smith, age 36, 106 Clyde Street, Lexington, KY, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $455.65.

Dale C. Smith, age 24, 2750 Loop Road, Cleveland, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $356.20.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Melissa Ann Eisnaugle, age 25, 392 Pine Street, Davisville, WV, for theft, a misdemeanor. Eisnaugle was arrested at Byer’s Exxon by Deputy Sheriff Eddy and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Aug 08 at 12:25 am.

Eric Wayne Morris, age 26, 80 Smith Drive, Marietta, for complicity in committing theft, a misdemeanor. Morris was arrested at Byer’s Exxon by Deputy Sheriff Eddy and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Aug 08 at 12:35 am.

Matthew David Salser, age 22, 1421 Lancaster Street, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Salser was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Aug 08 at 12:45 am.

Derick Layne Walker, age 23, 131 Ivan Street, Washington, WV, for assault, criminal mischief and for possession of drugs, all misdemeanors. Walker was arrested on Main Street by Patrolman Augenstein of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Aug 08 at 7:52 am.

Nicole Lynn Thompson, age 22, 848 Greene Street, Marietta, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Thompson was arrested at her residence by Probation Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Aug 08 at 4:04 pm.

Mary Frances Sullivan, age 34, 705 Silver Globe Road, Marietta, for falsification and for not wearing a seat belt, both misdemeanors. Sullivan was arrested on Gilman Avenue by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Aug 08 at 7:30 pm.

Joshua Dean Motley, age 21, 1608 Hill Street Apt. A, Belpre, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Motley was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Spencer and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Aug 08 at 8:30 pm.

Matthew Alan Smith, age 22, 907 30th Street Apt. 4, Parkersburg, for theft and for obstructing official business, both misdemeanors. Smith was arrested at Wal-Mart by Patrolman Hickey of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Aug 08 at 10:35 pm.
