On 17 Aug 08 Angelia Harshbarger, age 41, 9507 Federal Road, Cutler, reported her fourteen year old niece, of whom she has temporary custody, sneaked out of her home during the night and she has not heard from her since. This case remains under investigation (1293).

On 17 Aug 08 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes issued a citation to Joel A. Snyder, age 23, 4755 State Route 339, Vincent, for not wearing a seat belt. Deputy Rhodes stopped Mr. Snyder on State Route 339 near Warrior Drive in Barlow Township.

On 17 Aug 08 Randy K. Fisher, age 43, 530 Boggy Hollow Road, Coolville, reported finding a Rover utility vehicle, which is similar to a John Deere Gator, on his property. Mr. Fisher said the vehicle had bags of trash in the bed and was found in a location frequently used for illegal dumping. This case remains under investigation (200).

On 17 Aug 08 Deputy Sheriff K. Travaglio arrested Brad A. Lucas, age 39, 808 Warren Street, Marietta, for OVI, for consuming alcohol in a vehicle, for driving outside the marked lanes of travel and for not wearing a seat belt. Traveling in and out of his lane on State Route 7, Mr. Lucas nearly struck an oncoming vehicle. Upon speaking to Mr. Lucas, Deputy Travaglio detected an odor of alcohol and observed a superfluity of unopened and empty Natural Ice beer cans. Mr. Lucas admitted consuming a couple beers while en route to his sister’s residence and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. When transported to the Washington County Jail Mr. Lucas tested .224 BAC.

On 17 Aug 08 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes arrested Gary A. Coleman Jr., age 27, 404 Shaffer Road, Waterford, for OVI and for not wearing a seat belt. Asked about his odor of alcohol after being stopped for not using a turn signal, Mr. Coleman admitted he consumed five alcoholic beverages that evening. Following his poor performance on field sobriety tests Mr. Coleman was transported to the Washington County Jail where he tested .114 BAC.

On 17 Aug 08 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio issued a minor misdemeanor citation to Janna D. North, age 40, 502 Walnut Street, Lowell, for disorderly conduct. During an exchange of custody with her ex-husband outside her residence, Ms. North became upset and began wildly flailing her arms. Ms. North’s ex-husband was not injured, nor did he fear for his safety during the incident.

On 17 Aug 08 Thomas Rummer, age 53, 1920 East Branch Road, Lowell, reported between 10 and 15 Aug a non-functional 1947 or 1948 model tractor was stolen from his property. This case remains under investigation (790).

On 17 Aug 08 Deputy Sheriff K. Travaglio arrested Michael A. Dawson, age 19, 49505 State Route 7, New Matamoras, for possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, for driving outside the marked lanes of travel and for not wearing a seat belt. Stopping Mr. Dawson’s vehicle on State Route 7, Deputy Travaglio noticed Dawson and his passenger ducking down in their seats, making furtive movements. On the floor of the front seat Deputy Travaglio observed a marijuana pipe and a marijuana bud. A further search revealed a burnt marijuana joint concealed in a cigarette pack.

On 17 Aug 08 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued a citation to William R. Harris, age 28, 1535 Braun Road, Belpre, for driving under a suspended license and for not wearing a seat belt. Deputy Smeeks stopped Mr. Harris on State Route 7 near milepost sixteen in Warren Township.

On 17 Aug 08 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio issued a citation to Penny S. McClain, age 39, 955 Tick Ridge Road, Vincent, for not wearing a seat belt. Deputy Travaglio stopped Ms. McClain on State Route 7 near milepost seventeen in Warren Township.

On 17 Aug 08 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio issued a citation to Michael Johnson, age 33, 860 Walsh Road, Vincent, for driving under a suspended license and for having illegal window tint. Deputy Travaglio stopped Mr. Johnson on State Route 7 near Tower Road in Belpre Township.

On 17 Aug 08 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio issued a citation to Paul E. Wilcoxen, age 46, 1090 Cornes Road, Little Hocking, for not wearing a seat belt. Deputy Travaglio stopped Mr. Wilcoxen on State Route 7 near Tower Road in Belpre Township.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Justin Michael Jones, age 23, 3615 Shay Ridge Road, New Matamoras, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Jones was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Aug 08 at 1:15 am.

Gary Allen Coleman Jr., age 27, 404 Shaffer Road, Waterford, for OVI and for not wearing a seat belt, both misdemeanors. Coleman was arrested on Main Street in Waterford by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Aug 08 at 2:45 am.

Michael Anthony Dawson, age 19, 49505 State Route 7, New Matamoras, for possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, for driving outside the marked lanes of travel and for not wearing a seat belt, all misdemeanors. Dawson was arrested on State Route 7 in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff K. Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Aug 08 at 3:38 pm.

Brad Alan Lucas, age 39, 808 Warren Street, Marietta, for OVI, for consuming alcohol in a vehicle, for driving outside the marked lanes of travel and for not wearing a seat belt, all misdemeanors. Lucas was arrested at Southgate Trailer Park by Deputy Sheriff K. Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Aug 08 at 8:50 pm.

Jennifer Lynne Jones, age 35, 1201 Poplar Street, Belpre, for assault, a misdemeanor. Jones was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Kirby of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Aug 08 at 9:05 pm.

Michael Shane Davis, age 41, 152 Dawes Circle, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Davis was arrested at his residence by Patrolman McCracken of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Aug 08 at 11:10 pm.
