On 10 Aug 08 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued a citation to Jesse S. Books, age 26, 122 Harmar Street, Marietta, for driving under a suspended license. Deputy Smeeks stopped Mr. Books on State Route 7 near Clement Avenue in Blennerhassett Township.

On 10 Aug 08 Dean and Misty Mason, both age 22, 879 Grindstone Drive, Marietta, were transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital following an ATV crash on their property. Mr. Mason said he was operating the ATV with his wife as a passenger when he ran over a coyote he was chasing. No able to stop after striking the animal, Mr. Mason said he struck several small trees and overturned the ATV. Both victims suffered minor injuries (200).

On 10 Aug 08 Deputy Sheriff K. Travaglio arrested Cory R. Clark, age 21, 804 Garfield Avenue, Marietta, for possession of drugs and for possession of drug paraphernalia. Stopped for a traffic violation, Mr. Clark gave Deputy Travaglio permission to search his vehicle. In the vehicle’s console Deputy Travaglio discovered a marijuana pipe and bag of marijuana. Mr. Clark admitted the contraband belonged to him and stated he didn’t think Deputy Travaglio would look in the console.

On 10 Aug 08 Deputy Sheriff Mankins arrested Adam C. Broughton, age 25, 3700 State Route 60, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication. Asleep after drinking at a party that evening, Mr. Broughton was wakened by his mother because she did not want him to choke on the snuff pouch that was in his mouth. Mr. Broughton became irate, yelled incessantly at his family. Fearing Mr. Broughton would run into the street as he ran outside, family members restrained Mr. Broughton until assistance arrived. A portable breath test estimated Mr. Broughton’s BAC at .141.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Randy Joe Clevenger, age 21, 2274 Tick Ridge Road, Lower Salem, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Clevenger was arrested at 104 Riley Drive by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Aug 08 at 1:07 am.

Adam Carl Broughton, age 25, 3700 State Route 60, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Broughton was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Aug 08 at 3:45 am.

Glenna May Blair, age 28, 413 Silvercliff Avenue, Cambridge, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Blair was arrested in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Simmons and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Aug 08 at 10:08 am.

Cory Ray Clark, age 21, 804 Garfield Avenue, Marietta, for possession of drugs and for possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors. Clark was arrested in Reno by Deputy Sheriff K. Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Aug 08 at 7:23 pm.

Robert Dean Jordan, age 44, 136 ½ Harmar Street, Marietta, for contempt of a court order, a misdemeanor. Jordan was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Nedeff of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Aug 08 at 8:47 pm.
