On 7 Aug 08 Miranda Scoggan, age 20, 300 Main
Street, Macksburg, reported upon reviewing her credit card
statement she determined an unauthorized individual used her
credit card to amass $337.88 in charges. This case remains
under investigation (500).
On 7 Aug 08 a fifty-eight year old Lowell
resident reported Nathan S. Tyson, age 21, 300 Alderman Street
Lot 1, Marietta, left a welder, a rotary drill and a Dell computer
at his property and that he believes the items were stolen.
During a recorded phone call Mr. Tyson admitted the items were “hot” and
that “it hasn’t hit the papers yet.” Interviewed
by Lt. Wilson, Mr. Tyson first denied stealing the items but
later recanted his story. Mr. Tyson led Lt. Wilson to Toll
Compaction at 1405 Greene Street, Marietta, and explained in
detail how he removed the items from the property. As a result,
Lt. Wilson arrested Mr. Tyson for breaking and entering and
transported him to the Washington County Jail.
On 7 Aug 08 Leona Beardmore, age 96, 75 Caywood
Road, Marietta, reported sometime since December of last year
numerous collectible bottles, silver dollars and old US currency
have been stolen from various locations in her home. This case
remains under investigation (712).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Michael Jay Babcock, age 31, 470 Cornerville Road, Reno, for
a felony charge of tampering with evidence and for misdemeanor
charges of obstructing justice and contributing to the delinquency
of a minor. Babcock was arrested at his residence by Deputy
Sheriff McLeish and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 7 Aug 08 at 12:03 am.
Dayle Robert Sparks, age 19, 300 Alderman Street Apt. 5, Marietta,
for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Sparks was arrested at
the Locker Room by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
7 Aug 08 at 1:15 am.
Cletus Nolan Bush, age 43, 50 Washington Square, Williamstown,
for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Bush
was arrested on Greene Street by Patrolman McCracken of the
Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 7 Aug 08 at 2:57 am.
Charles Alan Hathaway, age 45, 2939 Righteous
Ridge Road, Waterford, for reckless operation and for failure
to control, both misdemeanors. Hathaway was arrested in Beverly
by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 7 Aug 08 at 5:06 pm.
Tina Michelle Ritzhaupt, age 31, 209 Elm Street, Belpre, for
a felony charge of failure to comply with the order/signal
of an officer and for misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest,
OVI, speeding, operating with an expired license, failure to
obey a traffic control device and reckless operation. Ritzhaupt
was arrested on Putnam Street by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 7 Aug 08 at 6:00 pm.
Nathan Sean Tyson, age 21, 300 Alderman Street Lot 1, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Tyson
was arrested at Selby Hospital by Lt. Wilson of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 7 Aug 08 at 7:19 pm.
Harry Walter Medcalf Jr., age 53, 109 ½ Del Ray Court,
Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Medcalf was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Carr
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Aug 08 at
8:49 pm.
