On 5 Aug 08 a Barth Road resident reported there was an unknown male on her porch asking for her to light a cigarette. Responding to the scene, Deputy Sheriff Rhodes located a subject matching the suspect’s description a tenth of a mile from the complainant’s home. When questioned the suspect, Douglas R. Morris, age 31, 430 ½ Marr Town Road, Parkersburg, stated he was headed to Parkersburg and was trying to find a ride. Mr. Morris had a strong odor of alcohol and provided a breath sample that registered .253 BAC. As a result of his behavior and inebriety, Mr. Morris was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication and transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 5 Aug 08 the manager of Par Mar #7, 11785 State Route 7, Marietta, reported when she counted the store’s deposit from the previous day she found what appeared to be a counterfeit $100 bill. Identifying the individual who passed the bill, Lt. Wilson learned the individual was approached by an unidentified male at Rinks who asked him if he had change for the bill. While the investigation into the counterfeit bill’s origin continues, Lt. Wilson determined the man who passed the bill will not be charged due to the fact he did not realize the bill was not authentic.
