On 2 Aug 08 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio issued a citation to Andrew K. Sleek, age 45, 10 Elm Street, Waterford, for not wearing a seat belt. Deputy Travaglio stopped Mr. Sleek on State Route 60 near Ullman Street in Beverly.

On 2 Aug 08 Jacinda Burton, age 33, 1313 Gilman Avenue, Marietta, reported she believes a former friend who visited her residence on 18 Jul stole two gold rings, worth a total of $1,000, from her bedroom. This case remains under investigation (712).

On 2 Aug 08 the Warren Fire Department transported a twelve year old Marietta resident to Camden Clark Hospital for what doctors diagnosed later as a broken left femur. Riding a motorcycle on his property under his father’s supervision, the juvenile lost control of the bike after landing a jump. Safety gear worn by the teenager like prevented him from further injury (1293).

On 2 Aug 08 a seventeen year old Lowell resident suffered a broken left arm when he fell off his ATV while riding at the Reno Raceway that afternoon. The Reno Fire Department transported the juvenile to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to his injury (805).

On 2 Aug 08 Marie Graham, age 63, 1175 Joe Skinner Road, Belpre, reported the locks were cut off her three storage units at 1231 Joe Skinner Road. Nothing appears to be stolen but the owner stated the lock was cut off another unit as well. This case remains under investigation (610).

On 2 Aug 08 Sharon Handschumacher, age 41, 2685 Righteous Ridge Road, Waterford, reported when she arrived home from work her husband Roland, age 48, was highly intoxicated, grabbed both of her arms and slammed her onto their bed. Mrs. Handschumacher wrestled free and fled for help. Arriving at the residence, Deputy Sheriff Lockhart found Mr. Handschumacher passed out with a beer in his hand. At that time, Deputy Lockhart arrested Mr. Handschumacher for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 2 Aug 08 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio arrested Christopher S. Holder, age 23, 12858 State Route 676, Waterford, for driving under a suspended license, possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to signal, for having a cracked windshield and for not wearing a seat belt. Stopped for having a cracked windshield, Mr. Holder was visibly nervous and agitated. A subsequent canine sniff of the exterior of Mr. Holder’s vehicle indicated the presence of drugs. When he searched the vehicle Deputy Travaglio discovered a bag of marijuana in the center console.

On 2 Aug 08 Jennifer K. Riley, age 26, 1045 Sandhill Road Lot 23, Marietta, reported her husband Steven, age 35, returned to their home after being out drinking and an altercation ensued. Mrs. Riley, whose lip was split open, said her husband struck her in the mouth after the two argued and Mr. Riley also made the statement that she would be dead before her kids. Determining Mrs. Riley was in fear for her safety, Deputy Sheriff Lockhart arrested Mr. Riley for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Tina Star Stevens, age 47, 4333 Zuber Road, Orient, OH, for .17 breath OVI, a misdemeanor. Stevens was arrested on Sandhill Road by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Aug 08 at 1:17 am.

Jason Joel Feltis, age 27, 1883 Williams Highway, Williamstown, for possession of drugs and for possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors. Feltis was arrested at the intersection of State Routes 60 and 821 by Deputy Sheriff Lockhart and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Aug 08 at 1:52 am.

Michael Smith Mellott, age 35, 174 Onward Road, Williamstown, for a felony charge of possession of drugs and misdemeanor charges of possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mellott was arrested at the intersection of State Routes 60 and 821 by Deputy Sheriff Lockhart and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Aug 08 at 2:29 am.

Steven James Riley, age 35, 1045 Sandhill Road, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Riley was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Lockhart and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Aug 08 at 3:25 am.

Clyde Alan Lee Miller, age 26, 405 Main Street, Waterford, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Miller was arrested at the Double L by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Aug 08 at 3:58 am.

Roland Dean Handschumacher, age 48, 2685 Righteous Ridge Road, Waterford, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Handschumacher was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Lockhart and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Aug 08 at 5:00 am.

Brian Michael Jumper, age 20, 812 Jackson Avenue, Parkersburg, for OVI, failure to control and for underage consumption of alcohol, all misdemeanors. Jumper was arrested near milepost six on State Route 339 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Aug 08 at 6:50 am.

Dustin Blake Lolley, age 22, 740 Greene Street, Newport, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Lolley was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Simmons and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Aug 08 at 11:40 am.

Christopher Scott Holder, age 23, 12858 State Route 676, Waterford, for driving under a suspended license, possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to signal, for having a cracked windshield and for not wearing a seat belt, all misdemeanors. Holder was arrested at the intersection of Putnam Avenue and Gilman Avenue by Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Aug 08 at 3:15 pm.

Donald James Covey, age 34, 300 Alderman Street Apt. 8, Marietta, for aggravated menacing, a misdemeanor. Covey was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Heddleston of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Aug 08 at 3:35 pm.

Angelo Vincent Knox, age 19, Marietta, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Knox was arrested at Hidden Meadows by Patrolman Thomas of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Aug 08 at 8:46 pm.

Jessica Lynn Treadway, age 29, 697 Hill Road, Cutler, for an out of county warrant for speeding, a misdemeanor. Treadway was arrested on State Route 7 by Deputy Sheriff K. Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Aug 08 at 9:08 pm.
