On 27 Jul 08 Deputy Sheriff Mankins arrested Todd A. Covey, age 40, 4101 Newells Run Road, Newport, for OVI and for driving left of center. Stopped on Dana’s Run Road, Mr. Covey had bloodshot eyes, slurred his speech and fumbled around in search of his driver’s license. Mr. Covey claimed he only drank three beers but performed poorly on field sobriety tests. When transported to the Washington County Jail Mr. Covey tested .219 BAC.

On 27 Jul 08 at around 2 am Deputy Sheriff Mankins observed two individuals pulling a yard sale sign out of a yard near the intersection of Greene and Acme Streets. The two suspects, identified as Michael W. Brown, age 18, 37740 Delancey School House Road, Dexter City, and Jesse D. Ingram, age 18, 43803 Fulda Road, Caldwell, had odors of alcohol and admitted drinking at a nearby party. As a result, Deputy Mankins arrested Mr. Brown and Mr. Ingram for underage consumption of alcohol and transported them to the Washington County Jail.

On 27 Jul 08 Randy Harlow, age 43, 5270 Patten Mills Road, Stockport, reported he was mowing his yard when acquaintance arrived at his residence and expressed his desire to imbibe copious amounts of an alcoholic beverage usually made from malted cereal grain, flavored with hops, and brewed by slow fermentation (aka get drunk). Not wishing to partake at the moment, Mr. Harlow asked the man to leave. In a huff, the acquaintance broke a window with his arm and ran from Mr. Harlow’s property. This case remains under investigation (945).

Michael William Brown, age 18, 37740 Delancey School House Road, Dexter City, for underage consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Brown was arrested on Acme Street in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Jul 08 at 2:25 am.

Jesse Damon Ingram, age 18, 43803 Fulda Road, Caldwell, for underage consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Ingram was arrested on Acme Street in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Jul 08 at 2:47 am.

Peter Nicholas Gebura, age 20, 1002 Washington Boulevard Apt. 6, Belpre, for OVI, for driving under an FRA suspended license and for driving outside the marked lanes of travel, all misdemeanors. Gebura was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Jul 08 at 3:15 am.

Melissa Dawn Cornell, age 28, 710 Washington Boulevard Apt. 132, Belpre, for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Cornell was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Jul 08 at 9:37 am.

Donald Eugene Bartimus, age 28, 2346 Sealy Ridge Road, Little Hocking, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Bartimus was arrested on Sealy Ridge Road by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Jul 08 at 12:30 pm.

Todd Alan Covey, age 40, 4101 Newells Run Road, Newport, for OVI and for driving left of center, both misdemeanors. Covey was arrested on Dana’s Run Road in Newport by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Jul 08 at 9:25 pm.
