On 26 Jul 08 Deputy Sheriff Carr arrested
Roland D. Handschumacher, age 48, 2685 Righteous Ridge Road,
Waterford, for disorderly conduct by intoxication. A friend
of Mr. Handschumacher reported he previously attempted suicide
and this evening he was extremely intoxicated and again threatening
to harm himself. Mr. Handschumacher was taken into custody
for his own safety and released the following day.
On 26 Jul 08 Deputy Sheriff Thorpe issued
a citation to Shannon L. Scholderer, age 33, 38221 Zuspan Hollow
Road, Middleport, OH, for driving under a suspended license
and for operating a vehicle with registration that expired
in May 2008. Deputy Thorpe stopped Mr. Scholderer on US 50
near milepost five in Belpre Township.
On 26 Jul 08 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks responded
to the scene of death of a forty-five year old Waterford resident.
Though the man’s death does not appear suspicious, this
case remains open pending the receipt of autopsy results.
On 26 Jul 08 Deputy Sheriff Mankins requested
a summons for Rebecca Sargent, age 18, 1320 Caywood Road, Marietta,
for criminal trespassing. An employee of Dollar General in
Lowell reported Ms. Stewart entered the store that afternoon
despite being told three months ago that she was no longer
welcome to shop there.
On 26 Jul 08 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes arrested
Nicholas J. Huffman, age 28, 6287 Veto Road, Belpre, for OVI
and speeding. Stopped on State Route 7 near Bramblewood Heights
Road for traveling 65 mph in a 55 mph zone, Mr. Huffman had
an odor of alcohol and admitted drinking four beers that evening.
Mr. Huffman had difficulty retrieving the requested paperwork
during the stop and performed poorly on subsequent field sobriety
tests. When transported to the Washington County Jail Mr. Huffman
refused a BAC test.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Glendon Lee Crawford, age 43, 409 Fulton Street, Marietta,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Crawford was arrested
at his residence by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 26 Jul 08 at 12:35 am.
Nicholas John Huffman, age 28, 6287 Veto Road, Belpre, for
OVI and for speeding, both misdemeanors. Huffman was arrested
on State Route 7 near Bramblewood Heights Road by Deputy Sheriff
Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26
Jul 08 at 4:10 am.
Larry Dale Haught Jr., age 28, 555 Dodd Run Road, Marietta,
for assault and criminal damaging, both misdemeanors. Haught
was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 26 Jul 08 at 7:52 am.
Melissa Dawn Miller, age 26, 386 Oak Street, Davisville, WV,
for driving under a suspended license, for parking a vehicle
with expired registration and for possession of a controlled
substance, all misdemeanors. Miller was arrested on Washington
Boulevard by Patrolman Augenstein of the Belpre City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
26 Jul 08 at 8:05 am.
Athena Terese Stillwagon, age 31, 554 Sand Ridge Road, Waterford,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Stillwagon was arrested at her residence
by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 26 Jul 08 at 9:17 am.

08 at 11:05 am.
Edward Dale Bailey, age 23, 502 Barclay Street Apt. D, Belpre,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Bailey was arrested at his residence
by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 26 Jul 08 at 3:10 pm.
John Andrew Pullins, age 30, 38815 Gold Ridge Road, Pomeroy,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Pullins was picked up in Athens County
by Deputy Sheriff Underwood and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 26 Jul 08 at 6:30 pm.
